Terrible call, it happens at the end of every game. You should not reward that kind of over-flop.

Stunned by that call. Absolutely egregious decision by that ref to make that call.

If they didn't miss the walk on Arkansas before they wouldn't have even been in position to blow the call. Double harm to the Hall

I get that by the letter of the rule that might be flagrant in that there was no effort to go for the ball, but isn't that the case for every intentional foul at the end of a game? Only difference here is the Arkansas player slipped so it looked worse than it was.

Bullshit. If that is the case, then every foul at the end of every game are flagrant 1's
You've got to make a perfunctory effort to go for the ball. That's why teams sometimes aren't able to give an immediate foul.

He shoved the ball handler in the back. He probably gets away with it if their feet don't get tangled up (and yes, there was a bit of a flop too), but that's the correct call.

Did the Arkansas player slip or get tripped? The only thing I can think of to justify the call was that the SH player shoved the Ark player instead of just touching or grabbing. That combined with a trip might have been the thought process, correct or not.

Yeah, 2 things that play wasn't:

1--a flagrant
2--a slip

He clearly tripped, but I think that was incidental.

This is simply wrong. Teams sometimes don't get the call because they don't touch the ball handler, they simply stand there, expecting a call. In your scenario, why aren't the players who don't go for the ball given flagrant 1s instead of a continuation of play?

Had Iona -15.5. Now have lost two best buy a total of 1 point. Fortunately, I doubled up on Arkansas at the half so am still up on the day, and have the teaser with Iona and USC alive. Also grabbed Louisville -12.5 live when they were down 8-2 and feel good there. Still frustrating.

That was not even close to a flagrant foul on the Hall kid. I've never seen somebody call a flagrant on an obvious end of game foul ever. A ref in that situation better see something a whole lot worse than what happened there to call a flagrant in that situation in an NCAA game. Inexcusable.

I had Iona too. That was a rough loss.

Listening to Chris Webber talk about his recruiting is kind of surreal. As is his editorial comment about how players "need to be honest with themselves."

I think C Webb might need a timeout.

If that 3 pointer had gone in against Louisville I would've lost my shit. Had that -12.5. Phew.

Yeah that qualifies as chaotic IMO. Also agree with everyone who says that is absolutely NOT a flagrant at the end of Seton Hall Arkansas.
I might have let it go in that situation but that wasn't just hand contact, it was a push and it was from behind. I don't think it was an awful call.

Thank God for RI, USC And Kansas. I've had an awful betting day. Had Michigan -1.5. Had Iona +15. Everything else I've pretty much lost.

Any thoughts on the late games?

Was thinking under in Miami/Mich St, over in Kentucky game and maybe UCLA at -18? Not sure what to make of the Marquette/SC game.

I know that betting against Izzo in the tourney is usually stupid, but I don't think MSU is very good this year. I like Miami.

I love MSU to tonight, I'm parlaying it with the KY over. Right now I need Dayton to hold on for +6.5 and a nice parlay will hit.

Dayton was very unlucky tonight. As a neutral who will almost always root for Wichita State, glad to see them win a tourney game for the 5th year in a row.

Indy will be the site for a pair of classic rematches (assuming Kentucky does not get upset by a 15 seed):

Louisville vs. Michigan (Rematch of the 2013 national title game)
Kentucky vs. Wichita St. (Rematch from the Round of 32 in 2014 which was one of the best games I have seen)
