Contracts so far for ESPN FA Ranked 6-15:

6 Graham 4/47
7 DRobinson 5/90
8 Conley 3/72.5
10 Fournier 4/78
13 Allen 5/100
14 Trent 3/54
15 Powell 5/90

Say what you will about the other moves, but Graham is a massive bargain by FA standards. And if the pick is lottery protected, it's not all that valuable. Think if all the times the Cs tried to move up with non-lottery picks.
Yeah, a ton depends on the protections. I didn't feel like making a nuanced post, just felt like bashing David Griffin lol.

It seems very odd that the Pelicans would send out a first round pick in their sign and trade for Graham, but not get one back in the Ball deal.

Agree. Cheaper deal so Charlotte needed more of an incentive to not match?

Not seeing it with the heat. 4/5 guys in their starting lineup are iffy shooting outside the paint. That looks like mid 90s team to me.

Never been high on butler. Outside of an asterik af bubble run, he's never led shit to anywhere
Don't forget the time he got the sixers to within a bad bounce of an nba title.

I actually think pretty highly of butler, but paying that much for a guy in his mid 30s seems insane, unless it's for a LeBron/Durant type.

Leverage. The Hornets didn’t have to agree to the sign-n-trade which would have precluded the Pels from acquiring him.

Missing out on Batum was a big disappointment for the Warriors. They also lost Bazemore to the Lakers which I don't think is a huge deal.

The fact that so many big-money deals are already complete makes me wonder about the sign-and-trade market for Oubre, which the Dubs were hoping to exploit. Seems pretty thin.

Edit - others disagree with my Bazemore take. View: https://twitter.com/feltbot/status/1422387853540028421?s=19

Saint Paul, MN
Cameron Payne 3/19
TJ McConnell 4/32.5

That seems completely bonkers to me. If you flipped those deals around, I would have nodded my head in agreement

Payne took less to stay in PHX it looks like. Though also, McConnell was good last year and his track record is better. Payne was out of the league before last year

Yeah Payne with a pretty strange career to date. Younger and higher upside than McConnell for sure, but he was really terrible not that long ago.

Semi signed with the Bucks

Feelin like the kid last picked for kickball over here as a Celtics fan.
Good for Semi.... somehow managing to get another NBA contract.

Good for the Celtics also, the Semi era has ended.

It seemed like the kid matured overnight. He began playing better and harder after he got rid of his 8” Afro. Coincidence? Maybe not.

He got a contract from the one team that *may* have been concerned when he checked into a game against them. If the Cs can trade Grant away, their off-season might still be a question mark but it will be radsox's best.offseason.ever.

Let them vent, at least it's slowed the "Bloom bungled the trade deadline" talk
It moved that talk into our previously quiet subforum.

Fake edit: you know that you've been a SoSH member too long when your phone tries to autocorrect "subforum" to "subpoena".

I'd be interested to see what kind of deal Dinwiddie got. He's got health issues but I thought he'd be great on this Celtics team.

I expected him to get paid real good. He did say earlier in week that he wanted to play with Beal.

Southwestern CT
Duncan Robinson got PAID. 5/$90
I'm surprised there hasn't been more comment on this.

Robinson went from a DIII player to the 6th man at Michigan. Becomes an undrafted free agent who gets a two-way contract and three years later he gets paid.

I always thought he was underrated at Michigan, but never in a million years did I think he would have this kind of success in the NBA. It's the perfect alignment of a skill set and what the NBA happens to be valuing at this precise moment.

Another point guard option for the Celtics? He’s 35 so taking a one year deal is maybe possible as well.
He once spotted me at a gym in San Antonio when he was a rookie so I can confirm he’s a high character guy…

Simmons and Jackie Mac talk about him a decent amount on Simmons most recent podcast

I *love* Kent Bazemore. But the whole "betting on himself" thing? Come on. The dude is 32, on the back 9, and has made nearly $80,000,000 in his career after not getting drafted He already bet and won. He's ring chasing.

It was buried among a few other WTF deals. Good for him, and his one skill is of course important, but wtf anyway.

Are Wenyen Gabriel and Matt Bonner the only others from NH to have made it? There has to have been more over the years. Always thought Carson Desrosiers was going to be a late bloomer and make it as a 7-foot stretch 5.

According to B-Ball reference, Bonner is the only player in NBA history born in New Hampshire. Robinson was born in Maine and Gabriel born in Sudan. Many more players went to high school in New Hampshire, but those are all prep kids going to Tilton and Brewster Academy. Bonner is the only one from a public high school.
