Shams took Woj out to the woodshed on draft night and isn’t showing any mercy today either! Wow....is there a new sheriff in town?

This is a fair contract. Olynyk is a good player and a slightly above MLE deal makes sense. If you compare this to the Allen deal it’s a screaming bargain.
That has always been the talked about contract for Allen. We aren’t surprised are we? It’s an interesting future in Cleveland and if I’m a Cavs fan the next shoe to drop is what can they get for Sexton to add to the Garland/Allen/Mobley youth trio.

I’m not surprised when my dog eats poop. Surprise is not the measure I would use to evaluate decisionmaking.

Detroit seems like such a terribly run organization insomuch as they never seem to have any sort of cohesive plan.

Does Miami work under a different cap from the rest of the league? Or the Heat's owners not give a damn about the luxury tax?

Totally. Time to see what Kelly O does with starters minutes, I guess. He's a smart player on both sides of the ball and that team might be fun with Cade, Bey and Grant. Not good, but fun.

I mean, we saw what he did in Houston & that was kinda fun, & compared to other contracts it's ~fine, but yeah, he's 30. What are they trying to win this year? & last year they signed like 5 centers for...reasons?

I'm not the biggest Lonzo fan, but NO should have just matched him if the alternative was 1 year of Sato and a 2nd. You could just trade him next year for real value.

Woj: TJ McConnell has agreed to a four-year, $35.2M deal to stay with the Pacers, his agent Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports tells ESPN.

I think the Celtics will be focused on the discount bins during this free agency, so it is no surprise that they are not active early. They are going to pick through whetever is left after the early burst of signings.

Again, I don't really disagree - but it's not a big contract. Easily moved. I mean I have no idea what their plan is either, but it's not exactly like anyone is in a rush to play there. He'll make them marginally better and won't stop them from losing their way into the lottery again.

yep, my guess is they aren't interested in being hardcapped for what is out there so we're looking at mini-MLE and minimums.

Edit- unless of course Fournier isn't interested in NYK or SAS and wants a S&T.

Yeah...I think Lonzo's contract is the biggest bargain signed so far. "Bargain" being a relative term.

Yeah guys like this aren’t who we want to lock up. We want flexibility to move for Beal or to clear space in the summer for Beal.

100 fucking percent. They dumped the equivalent of a 1st round pick for cap room they’re going to use on nobodies. Just a terrible job by Griffin

Good to see Nerlens Noel make some money after he and his agent turned down a stack years ago.

I don't hate the Burks deal either, but that's probably mostly biased by him being their best player in the playoffs.*

*Besides DRose I guess.

Don't the Pelicans need a starting point guard now? They're not handing the keys to Sato, are they?

I don't feel like grabbing tweets, but Woj's last 2 are:

Jeff Green to Nuggets, 2/$10m & Moe Harkless back to Kings for 2/$9m.

& the most recent Shams Bomb is Sterling Brown to Mavericks for undisclosed terms.
