Well he does have 39 K in 29 MLB innings and wasn't terrible for the LAAA last year. Would have probably been better than a lot of the crap they were throwing out there in late 11 and most of 12. The Athletics have signed center fielder Coco Crisp to a two-year contract extension, the team announced. Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle says it is worth $22.75 million. The deal includes a vesting option for a third year based on plate appearances.
Crisp, 34, was scheduled to become a free agent next offseason. The Athletics exercised his $7.5 million club option earlier this winter and now have him locked up through potentially 2017.
