The way my brother described it: "significant non contact knee injury that had him leave the game in an aircast."

Sounds like he is finished for the year.

I feel like some of this has to be scheme and coaching right?

Like, the Chargers Defense seems like it has a ton of talent but it also seems like some odd scheming.

Using the highlights from the game he got benched in, that Dulchich busted coverage probably is his fault but that either seems to me that he was supposed to be zone and followed his guy as man or that the intention was to line up JC Jackson on the tight eend instead of the WR, instead letting him run free to the safety. On the Hamler catch, clearly Jackson is way behind but why is Derwin James also that far behind on the receiver (unless his role was to play mid field and then he had to scramble back when JCJ lost coverage)? Staley puts these both on JCJ so I'm assuming he knows the play call but it feels weird that the players were in these spots. Or that the Chargers paid this much money for a CB like JCJ to have him play zone against tight ends.

I dunno, I feel like the Chargers are a zone defense from the little I've seen under Stalry and they paid a ton of money to a man who made his bones as a man CB. Might be more of a talent mismatch than Jackson suddenly becoming a terrible CB. Hope he recovers and either figures it out or pulls an old KVN and comes back.

I love JC, his back story, and look back fondly on the time he had here. It sucks that this is happening to him, but that big sack of money was well timed. This league is brutal.

The injury is an example why NFL free agents should always chase the money when they can. Careers turn on a single play.

Feel horrible for him but I’m glad for the timing for him. You really can’t begrudge dudes for taking the money and this is an absolutely textbook example.

The running back was booked late Saturday night/early Sunday morning on two charges in Natchez, according to a Natchez Police official.

It's not yet clear what the allegations are against Ridley -- but records show he was released from custody on Sunday.

I know mugshots aren't glamor shots, but Jesus he looks terrible. Thats a worrying picture.
Yeah, and he's only 34 years old. In another world he's still playing ball.

Additional reports say there was an incident at a nightclub.

According to the Seminole Police Department, Dion Lewis was taken into custody by officers at around 2 PM at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa after he had allegedly been unruly and belligerent.

An SPD spokesperson said that Lewis had been accused of "causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises."

Didn’t see Chandler Jones mentioned in here yet. Besides the stuff below, he brought up Larry Fitzgerald and his daughter in a weird and confusing post. He’s really flying off the handle, it would seem.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/nfl/article-12531447/amp/Raiders-Chandler-Jones-goes-disturbing-rant-accuse-team-owner-Mark-Davis-protecting-identity-man.html

In a lengthy sequence of tweets, Jones accused Raiders owner Mark Davis of 'holding a huge secret,' and said he's been barred from the team's facilities since he allegedly found out his goddaughter was being 'molested.'

'Now you taking money out of my pocket, here I am watching my team lose because. someone was molesting my God daughter,' he wrote.

'You can call me whatever you want, CTE, a dumb football player, dumb black man.. whatever y’all want, keyboard warriors. Meanwhile our children are getting molested.

Aaaaaand you're righter than anyone knew at the time. Warrant out for his arrest:

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38491500/warrant-chargers-jc-jackson-600-fine-class

I'm one who would've signed him to the contract the Chargers gave him. As usual, In Bill We Trust.
Wow, over $600 and a few hours of time. His legal issues are certainly minor in comparison to what a lot of talented NFL players get away with, but definitely a red flag and a reason to think twice about giving him an $80 million contract.

Man, I hope the guy can get some help. He's pretty young, hope he doesn't have some CTE-related issue. :(

I hope he gets help too, before he causes irreparable harm to himself or anyone else. Can you imagine trying to section 12 (or whatever it is called in other states) him involuntarily? Not a dr but this seems like severe mental illness, and I carry the concern sometimes CTE keeps the league from addressing mental health issues more openly as everything gets labeled concussion.

Like, of course these heroic juggernaut human beings couldn’t have mental health problems, it must be related to on Field play and head injury. Again, not a doctor but I wondered the same about Seau as well. Also schizophrenia is often diagnosed first in males in mid 20s. Maybe that’s triggered by CTE as well, i just wish the conversation was broader.

Former BC and Patriots’ RB Mike Cloud is disabled due to head injuries he suffered playing football. This federal appeals court decision, which rejected Cloud’s claim for enhanced disability benefits from the NFL, paints a damning picture of how the league handles former players’ disability claims.

This is really the NFL administration in a nutshell. Get criticized for an obvious error but, amazingly, suffer no consequences.

I was just watching the highlights of the 2003 regular season game against Indianapolis. Cloud scored at least one TD and was a really nice player on that team.

that's an awful story.
