Felger and Mazz - Creating False Naratives one day at a time

I thought it was interesting this afternoon that J Stew was doing his best to keep the Mac Jones trade rumors going, despite them being shit on by Tom Curran. Then Felger proceeded to basically beg the Pats to do something “to create buzz”. Are these guys getting nervous that the Pats gravy train is coming to an end, and they might have to do some actual work to make their show interesting? Felger particularly seems to have had a hair across his ass lately.
they shouild be because let talk best case and its goes for denver too
right now its 10 wins and hope for buffalo in the afc champ game
unlees burrow and mahomes drop off or get hurt the best u can do is 10 wins plus a playoff win

Hearing Felger bitch about people who bitch about Daylight Savings Time was interesting. He strikes me as someone who would hate it (DST)

Felger played the greatest hits today: Pasta gives the puck away, cap is crap, Pats are cheap, Pats suck, Mac sucks, etc. Just a master class in cheap trolling. The biggest problem is that I kept changing the station but then going back. It’s like a bad relationship at this point. (Am I the only one that thinks that Jimmy Stewart is the cause of a lot of this shit?)

He's not insinuating, it's been a couple of days now of him outright saying he's heard from people inside the organization that Bill loves Lamar and thye've had internal discussions about trading for him.
It's something we know Bill LOVES to do. Trade tons of draft capital for a top of the market QB AND sign him to a league altering contract. It's what he always does....

Wait a second here... according to Felger, Belichick doesn't care about talent, only about "value" and Kraft is extremely cheap. So in what universe can that be true and the Pats also go after Lamar, give him a huge guaranteed contract in place of the cheap rookie contract Mac Jones is on and also give up 2 first round picks, the picks that the show is always bashing Bellichick for "trading down" with any time he doesn't use it exactly where their original draft slot is?

Of course this is the same Felger who for years has proclaimed the cap is crap but also was bashing the Pats yesterday for the Jonnu Smith move because it "only cleared 4 million in cap space".

Coach Bill will do it because he’s fed up with Mac! He hates him! He wants Lamar!

All according to Tucker Felger…

Last week Felger said that he had no information on the Pats going after Lamar (this may have changed) but he’s trying to will it to happen because it will give him something to talk about. I honestly think he’s bored of the Pats off-season and is trying to spice things up.

It’s supposed to be entertainment, I guess.

No, it's "big" Jim. This is who Felger and Mazz were all along, but when the show started they had Bertrand to go at them once they started going off the rails. Since Jim is worse than the hosts, he eggs on their worst tendencies. I'd say Jimmy Stewart is the best part of the show now.

Felger loathes wide receivers. Case in point Randy Moss having a record breaking season and Felger whining and moaning the whole time about it (granted part of that is also because he is a footie pajama wearing Packers fan who hated the Vikings). He often makes disparaging remarks about receivers. Deion Branch is really the only one I can think of that he really liked and that was 10 - 15 years ago. So no matter who they signed he was going to bash it. Gotta keep in mind that for their show to work. they need to simultaneously believe that contradicting takes are both true. Bashing the team for not signing any wide receivers and bashing them once they sign a wide receiver makes total logical sense in Felger's head.

I always think of Jim Murray as someone who is grateful that he was rescued from the hinterlands of Atlanta sports radio because Bergeron scored in overtime of Game 7 in 2013. He’ll do whatever he needs to keep his job. He’s hinted in the past that he’s sold his soul for the paycheck. Jimmy Stewart strikes me as the driver of the daily email where the “takes” are designated and nobody is allowed to break kayfabe.

What's funny is Felger always goes off on how he hates burner receivers, those who "extend the field" or "take the top off the ball" and how he hates those guys.

Yesterday the few minutes I listened they were bitching JuJu doesn't have very many long plays anymore. "Four years ago he had a 97 yard play, three years 91....last year his long was 35 yards!!!"

(I made up those specific numbers because it's 630 am and I don't feel like diving into stats)

I distinctly remember Big Jim's last job before going to Boston was as host of a morning show on a local FM station here in ct. It was on 99 9 FM. I think this was like in 2015 or 16

Yesterday: "After a brutal Celtics loss to Washington on Tuesday any chance at the #1 seed is gone!"

Today: "With six games left the Celtics are very much in it for the #1 seed!"

Decided to tune in for the first time in a while as both the winter teams are heading into the playoffs. These guys are absolutely miserable. I know it’s basically all fake outrage but don’t understand how anyone can enjoy it.

Pasternak is a loser
Celtics don’t have what it takes to win

Click. See ya!

It’s been truly awful lately. The Mac Jones/Kraft/Belichick saga non stop, with brief interludes to shit on the Bruins and Celtics. Now, they also have the Red Sox. I usually turn it on then just can’t take it.

They were on when I got in the car today. Making fun of Tatum for possibly having the most commercials of anyone in sports ever that has never won a ring.
I lasted about a minute.

Tatum makes less in endorsements than Dame, Harden, Butler, Melo Ball, Booker, CP3, Ja, and Paul George. Probably a few more. Definitely less than Charles Barkley even now.

These bozos are so old, corny, and parochial.

That's just brutal. Genuinely surprised that the afternoon show didn't get an uptick with the revised lineup.

Not sure what it is but whenever I listen to Jone's show now it feels like he's hoped up on coke. Has this manic energy where he talks super fast and is constantly in motion.

Having Ted Johnson reading headlines/updates is cruel to everyone involved. Him, the listeners, and anyone above 3rd grade who can read a complete sentence.

Decided to tune in to see if they could find it in them to be positive about the Pats pick-nope! “Didn’t go where he was supposed to, must have something wrong that doddering old man Bill didn’t catch!” It’s so stupid yet people keep listening, why??? Felger has devolved into the Tucker Carlson of sports talk radio, which is a shame because I like to hear someone who’s not a homer but this schtick is nonsensical.

Was coming here to post the same. I turned it off when Felger was talking about how he’s concerned the difference in the game was merely a “dumb” 3 by Tatum from far out. “You won because you made 2 more shots than them, that’s not good enough against this bad a team” is more or less what he’s saying.

then Murray chimed in about how the Cs were too happy post game…

Felger's gotten too predictable. Tuned in at 2 and of course it wasn't that they got a consensus top 10 player at 17, but that the other teams must've passed on him for good reason and he wasn't worth picking that high.

/click turns off radio.

Everyone sucks and is a joke and you should never be happy. If your sports teams bring you joy, you are pathetic and a fanboy. Tune in at 2 to find out why.

It’s all a shtick and it works for them. They cannot and should not be taken seriously.

They root for the wall, tell bigoted jokes, ridicule people for their appearance, insult people by calling them 'Nancy' or 'Sally', can't go five minutes without a vulgar reference to masturbation, the sidekick bullies any and everyone he can find, they mock the public for theoretically doing exactly what they are literally doing, and their opinions are boringly predictable. They're awful people and bad at their jobs. Why in the world would someone support this show by listening to it? Put on some music.

You should tell this to the people who are so carefully documenting the show for your benefit!

My favorite angle was that this doesn't sound like a Belichick-type player, so that means he doesn't control the draft board anymore. Robert must have taken it away from him.

They would complain about anything and everything a team in Boston does...

They trade for mike Trout or sign Ohtani? you bet they would find something to complain about

They are never happy and love to complain

Mike - Already veering away from their 'plan.' Desperate owners trying to appease a bunch of pink hat fans!
Tony - You're right mike!
