This shows has become unlistenable with Murray’s terrible voices and fart jokes. Hopefully they fire him so I can listen to this show again.

I was listening to Beatle and Zo and they were talking about how much they hated Beth Mowins on Monday Night Football. They both started howling and for about 2 minutes talked about how much they were looking forward to Murray doing an impression of her. That's what the show has become.

If the Sox win the World Series, they will literally celebrate it for a day or two and then start complaining about how they have to do it again to prove it wasn't a fluke.

(Sorry. I know this is all over the place and yes, I realize I don't have to listen, but some days... Rarer and rarer lately... I just want to listen to local sports radio)

They also will play an interview and pick out a word or phrase and dissect it to make it seem like a player hates it here, hates their coach or is a weak individual. They discuss it so much that it becomes a fact to them. Then a caller says something to defend the player, and gets yelled at for being a tool homer. It's not entertaining anymore.

I turned it on for about 3 minutes yesterday and they were claiming the Sox actually only have 99 wins because the last two games they won the other team just sucked worse than they did so they are “Fake wins” and don’t count. Also any Red Sox fan who thinks 100 wins is cool or noteworthy is pathetic. That was enough for me.

I know it is just schtick, but I don’t get why anyone listens. They are miserable and hate everything about Boston sports, and it is like they see it as a personal weakness if fans actually enjoy watching their teams play well without needing every season to end in a championship.

Got to hand it to them. By that logic all of the Sox wins are fake, as every other team in baseball sucks worse than they do. They’ve negated the entire season.

I've cut way back listening to these "hot take" clowns, but like you caught their adjusted win total for fake wins. I guess the manufactured bullshit sells, but Felger who's reasonably aware, is very tuned in to being an annoying asshole get him market share, so there's little reason to believe he will stop the numbing hot take/contrarian model. I have limited tolerance for the contrived bullshit, I'd rather listen to the gasbag Francesa. While he's got some biases (and he plays off them) they're mostly natural and his takes are generally legit and the guy knows his shit. For example he admitted Friday he was starting to weaken to the arguments on Brady as the all-time GOAT. Its about as close to him admitting he might be wrong, but at least he's mostly genuine.

Patriots win and play well in all 3 phases......

So Felger and Mazz will say:

1) Dolphins suck "lemons." They suck.....they BLOW," Mazz will say. Thus, we can't learn anything about the defense from this game

2) But Brady is throwing so many interceptions

3) The Pats are flailing but the AFC East SUCKs and Blows (points to other AFCE games)

4) Don't give me this Sony Michel stuff.... he is just another stiff

5) Gronk is hurt -- they BLOW

EDIT: One segment in. They just teased the "Sony michel is not impressive segment." A whole segment to have Mazz and Felger rip him and Murray be his public defender...... OK, back to political news. Nothing depressing there....

Me too. I mostly just listen for first 20 minutes after a key win/loss just to see if I can predict their hot takes. I am right more than i am wrong, but it isn't a hard game.

ANd yes it is amazing how Murray was well liked when he came in, and has slowly come to adopt the Felger/Mazz persona (although he is less funny then either of them, which is saying something -- at least his efforts at "bits" are).

Now he is seems almost universally loathed. It is interesting hearing him on Saturday with Gasper because he takes it down 5 nothches. It makes it seem even more transparently stupid on weekdays.

It really is pathetic how predictable they are and how they will grasp at anything they can to refuse to give the Patriots any credit. Winning by 31 points against a first place undefeated team, a win the team really needed after losing the last two, and EVERYONE knew how the show was going to start. The game was meaningless. Miami SUCKS. Sony Michel, despite his day, sucks and the Pats were idiots to draft him in the first round. Miami, like Houston simply gave the ball to the Pats and there was nothing whatsoever you can take from this game as meaningful (despite saying the opposite before the game). Its beyond how over the top negative they are now. It is that it is so easy to know exactly what they are going to say before the show starts, and the fact that they then go ahead and say exactly that. Why even bother listening at this point?

I have not listened to that show in a couple weeks now and it's refreshing.

Yesterday I was in the car for a while in the late afternoon. Since I had blown through a bunch of podcasts I figured I'd stream 98.5. Within 90 seconds F&M were saying that the game on Sunday meant nothing, everything and everyone sucks, and... click.

I tend to go months at a time without tuning into this show. Then I do and quickly remember why I don't.

I'll usually listen to the first ten minutes of the show to see what schtick they choose for the day. Yesterday was especially dull.

It was predictable, boring, and unimaginative.

I switched to other podcasts.

I like listenting when Bedard is on every Tuesday and they are doing their best to ruin that. The whole first segment was about how Sony wasn’t that impressive and far worse than Felger initially thought after watching the film.

I don’t get how this garbage sells. I use to be an avid listener just can’t do it anymore.

Someone with free time needs to start a twitter account predicting what Felger and Mazz will say an hour before each show.

There is no worse radio than Murray's "Tom Brady hates Gisele and runs to the stadium early to get away from his nagging wife" take....that he runs with for like 4 minutes at a time

I'll raise you the Red Sox "fake wins" stat that he was using. I heard him reference it on the weekend, but mentioned that they talked about it during the week.

Mazz says Wright is faking his injury because he is afraid of the Yankees. Mazz is also suspicious of Moreland coming out of Game 2. Says there are a lot of soft players on this team.

Mazz ranting and raving yesterday about how dumb the Six were to trade for Eovaldi. Oops,

He’ll be in quite the quandary today. After every big win a Boston team has his response is “The other team SUCKS!”. But this time it’s his favorite team in all of sports, the Yankees.

Today's storyline will be the bullpen still sucks and you won't have eovaldi or the offense to bail you out every game. They were the only team to not add a reliever at the deadline. it's going to come back to bite them in the ass sooner than later. Blah blah blah blah blah Mike

They can look to Bedard‘s unnecessarily click bait-y headline for inspiration:

“Nathan Eovaldi deftly fills void left by David Price’s high-priced flop.”

Today it will be Boone is terrible and the MFYs are unprepared, as evidenced by Severino being late to the bullpen for warmups. If the MFYs had a good manager this series would already be over. And yes they'll spend a ton of time on Price.

...or running up the score, even though it was the Yanks who embarrassed the sport by putting a catcher in to pitch in a playoff game.

I'm usually driving home in the 6:00 hour and there was no way in hell I was listening to Mazz and the baseball reporters yesterday or else I might have decided not to watch the game because it was obviously a foregone conclusion the Sox were going to lose.

I may have to listen today for the first five minutes to see what crisis he manufactures for tonight's game before switching over to something else.

Mr. Allented: Because I think it's a joke that one person on a 12 man staff can't pitch a fucking inning in a 5 games series with TWO days off inserted. Not exclusive to the Yanks by any means. Everyone in their bullpen is perfect, has nothing to work on, experiment with. You can rest assured there is always someone that wants to hit in that situation.

Both Lynn and Eovaldi slipped on or around the mound last night, the conditions were crappy. In a blowout game, If I'm Boone, why take the chance of hurting one of my relievers? Romine is way more fungible than a bullpen arm, knowing that the Yanks will need all hands on deck for Game 4 and possibly Game 5.

It’s really not a 12 man staff at that point. They already had burned 5 pitchers, CC is starting tonight, Tanaka pitched two nights before and will be needed on Thursday if the series goes that far. So what are they to do? Bring in one of their best relievers? Imagine the backlash if they brought in Robertson, Chapman, Betances or hell, even Happ, and that guy took a ball off the wrist and was lost for tonight and possibly after.

Mazz is ripping on the Baseball world for celebrating the cycle instead of all that the Red Sox accomplished last night.......Hey asshole, all you are talking about is the cycle!

I almost never listen to WEEI, living in CT where I am mercifully spared from its signal, but I'm up in Boston on some business so I thought I'd tune in and enjoy a little gloating or something after a record victory, but what do I hear? They're shitting all over Holt for enjoying himself last night. Jesus, if you can't enjoy a random scrub like Brock Holt doing something that's never been done before in the context of a historic demolition of your hated rival, what can you enjoy?

Switched over to XM Radio after about 4 minutes.

Didn't they shit on the Red Sox celebrating Mookie's cycle because it came on a loss? I guess a player can only enjoy hitting for the cycle if the last hit is a walkoff in a WS game 7. What a bunch of sour fucking losers.

Same. I said it upthread, but this is what happens when you get people who don't actually like sports hosting sports radio. They like drama and controversy, but not the actual games. I like criticism, but this show has gone so far over to the heel side that it's unlistenable.

They want them to lose so badly. So they can mock the fans that celebrated 108 regular season wins. So dipshit Murray will feel some sort of validation about all the "fake" wins. I don't know if they just think it makes better radio or what? But unfortunately, their listeners eat it up and a handful feel the same way. It's pathetic.

Their ratings don't seem to be dipping, so there's really no need for them to stop. Just wait until the Celtics have a 3 game losing streak in November. There will be target square on their backs as well.

It's gotten so bad with Mazz and the Red Sox that even Felger has called him out on occasion recently. I listened to the opening and Felger and Murray both said Mazz was creating a straw man by killing the Sox for celebrating Holt's cycle. Of course then they ran with it for four hours.

A couple times during the ALDS I made the mistake of flipping over to the Comcast post-game show after a Sox win, only to be greeted by Mazz ranting about one thing or another to the point where it sounded and looked like he might pass out. What a miserable SOB.
