Gaspar ripping Mac Jones for not recruiting free agents to come play for the Patriots. This new Gaspar is quite a 180 from his old persona.

ROFLWhy should tomorrow be different than any other day for him...............
But you have to admit, the show tomorrow is going to be wildly entertaining. The last few years, Felger's big thing about the draft is that you don't know for 3 years how it turned out. That, and their lack of desire to do any work (especially from Mazz, who has admitted to not even watching the games he covers, although he's now at least forced to when he's on NESN) is why every year they throw markers at a magazine to make their draft picks.
And yet at the same time they've been saying Belichick gets fired this year if he doesn't have a good draft. So I guess it now all has to be measured in a single year, not three.
I wasn't going to listen to them tomorrow anyway, but after they traded down and took a Guard, lol, good luck to any who dares it. I know criticism from Mazz, the guy who blasted the Chiefs for drafting Mahomes a few years ago, will be hard hitting.
Kind of surprised they went this route TBH. Low hanging fruit and lazy take.I made it 20 min before turning it off. Patriots are beyond stupid, even if he's great it doesn't matter he 100% would have been there at 54, guards dont matter etc. etc. etc.
Good one.Kind of surprised they went this route TBH. Low hanging fruit and lazy take.
I’m serious. It’s such an easy take. Volin wrote it, Curran wrote it, even Phil Perry kind of wrote it. They’re usually a bit more creative than that.Good one.
Wow, ok. In fairness, I’ve barely listened to them for last couple of years. But my recollection is if there was a lazy, cheap, negative hot take to be had regarding any of the local teams, that’s exactly what they would do.I’m serious. It’s such an easy take. Colin wrote it, Curran wrote it, even Phil Perry kind of wrote it. They’re usually a bit more creative than that.
These takes from them are obvious and predictable. Still, I wish someone would remind them of the fact that for 20 years, the Patriots had a QB that was (and still is) the best ever in terms of pocket awareness and pocket mobility. The one sure way to make that QB have a bad game? Generate inside pressure by rushing 3 or 4. In one Super Bowl, the Pats starting LG played on a bad ACL; in another, more infamous one, their right guard left the game with an injury.Felger's take is this is classic Bill from his Cleveland days; his theory was you build from the middle of the field out, centers, guards, safeties....................this was true 25 years ago, not today.
He then went on to say Bill told him at a function back when Felger covered the team that you can get guards anywhere, can get them off the street, yet here he is using high draft capitol on a guard, one this is a safe pick, you can hide a mediocre guard vs a mediocre defensive lineman, so it's a safe pick.
Not sure you can hide a mediocre guard who gets blown up on passing plays and can't open holes in the run game.
The three of them today are in their glory over this.
Gasper is on today and he said he would have taken the linebacker from Utah with the 21st pick.
I'm agreeing with you, but the show has been like this for 10 years or more. It's a constant gaslight of Boston sports fans. The year that the Pats were rolling and beat the Falcons, Massarotti said (in December, IIRC) that if the Pats won the Super Bowl it wouldn't be "a big deal" because there were no real good teams in the NFL that year, like the 85 Bears or the 90s Niners. If the Pats won it would be default, ie someone has to win the Super Bowl.At this point, it's pretty clear that this show's M.O. is to just spin everything positive into a negative, whenever possible, and to exaggerate just how bad already negative events are. The Sox could go 161-1 on the season, sweep the playoffs, and all they'd talk about all winter is the one loss and how it's indicative that the team is not built for future success, will probably lose 100 games next season, and on and on and on. The Patriots could drop 100 points in a game and they'd point out the few mistakes made and how they have to be much better about that if they want to win a title, but they won't because they're losers without Brady, etc.
They should really just rename the show "Yeah, But... with Felger and Minions."
It'll be more like. "Good job on beating the defending champs but if you think, for one second, that you'll be able to use that formula to beat Miami, you're sorely mistaken and here's 4 hours on why"I wouldn't listen today, if you're looking to feel good about yesterday's game. "The game last night when the Celts beat the Bucks by almost 30? Yeah. It wasn't as good as you thought it was and here's why!"

I mean, he's not wrong when it comes to the 2nd half.Turned off the show within five seconds. Has to be a record for me. Felger giddy saying Tatum got punked and lunch money taken.

Sure. If his audience is 4 year olds, or those who aspire to be.I mean, he's not wrong when it comes to the 2nd half.
To call it getting punked given the circumstances with people out is a little strong IMO. That and how happy he was just made me seek alternative listening. Don’t really feel like getting trolled today.I mean, he's not wrong when it comes to the 2nd half.
They built the lead in the 1st half with people out and then they completely collapsed in that 3rd quarter. Short roster or not, getting punked is an apt term for what happened. Miami turned up the pressure and intensity on the defensive end and the Celtics lost all composure and let the game get away from them. If you want to use a different term like they wilted under the pressure or something, fine. But let's call it for what it is. Doesn't mean they don't have a shot of winning the series or anything like that or that the team isn't mentally tough because they are. But in that 12 minute instance, Miami punked them.To call it getting punked given the circumstances with people out is a little strong IMO. I would have stayed far, far, far away from the radio or CSN at 2:00 pm. There's nothing worse than listening to Felger strutting around. And like RedOctober said, you can't really fight back because they got crushed in that third quarter. I know that there were injures and stuff, but still ... that was an all time ass kicking. It's hard to argue otherwise.Turned off the show within five seconds. Has to be a record for me. Felger giddy saying Tatum got punked and lunch money taken.

That’s what I call dbag on dbag violence. In the span of roughly 10 minutes today:
Mazz - "Don't you want Trevor Story to fail? It gives Xander more leverage!"
Mazz - "I don't believe the Celtics have an elite shooter!"
/click. Turns off radio.
In fairness Felger basically called him an idiot on both counts.
Seems like a fun topic the day after a Game 4 win by the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. Maybe if Boston makes it to the NBA Finals, they can rank which team has the best kickers.Felger is going to rank the 32 Head Coach/QB combos today. Has BB/Mac at 13th. Murray was upset and thought it should be closer to 20th.
They opened the show discussing how the NBA playoffs are a terrible product with every game being a blowout. Cs/ Heat in particular being a borderline unwatchable product.Seems like a fun topic the day after a Game 4 win by the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.
I haven't listened to a minute of it, but shouldn't this be the story? It's a borderline unwatchable product because one team shows up and the other doesn't. If it was just one team blowing them out, that's one thing, but I find it fascinating that it's so lopsided game to game and what is the reason behind it. Or we can just do BB THE GM IS KILLING BB THE COACH. MAC HAD A DAD BOD AND IS NOW TOO THIN! nonsense. They opened the show discussing how the NBA playoffs are a terrible product with every game being a blowout. Game 3 was a blow out for three quarters until it wasn't. Same with Game One.
