Re: Mazz and Felger's argument that Brady should accept a 2 game penalty for the good of the team:
Wouldn't it be worth asking both Felger and Mazz this question: "Guys, you have both been newspaper men for ____ years. Let's assume you were accused of plagiarism, and you know with certainty that the accusation was false. Nevertheless, your Editor in Chief and owner of your paper decides to suspend you for 3 months without pay (the equivalent of 4 games in the NFL). You protest vociferously, as there is no incontrovertible evidence of plagiarism, in fact, there is good reason to believe that there is no credible evidence of plagiarism. The plagiarism accusations are made public as well as your suspension. You are branded as plagiarizers. Your union permits you to appeal your suspension to your employer, and after significant back and forth, your employer, to put it to rest, will agree to reduce the suspension 30 days without pay. Do you accept the penalty and suspension and live with the stain of being a plagiarizer? Wouldn't that be best for your family? What say you?"
I truly wonder what answer they'd give.
