I don't know, Bryan Mata continues to be a very interesting prospect

true, and their review isn't too bad. Hopefully some of the players in the lower ranks take leaps forward this year. I am hoping that Song gets to defer for awhile. he seems to be really promising. The reviews on Dalbec and Durran are pretty bad though.

The Song situation is fascinating to me. Those 2 years would be the difference between real prospect and fringe prospect.
Personally, I think that the most interesting guy to watch this year is Groome.

i didnt realize he was Rule 5 eligible after this season. It does seem like a make or break year for him this season. Still pretty young but I imagine someone would take a risk on him if we left him exposed. I remember when Flores had that great stretch, still hoping he turns into someone of value. But now that we have Xander locked up, he would probably have more value as a trade piece.

Kind of a weird report on Casas. Feels like it could have been written last spring - really doesn't say a word about last season.

This part definitely had to be written before the 2019 season:
"He played third base after signing, though mostly during instructs, as Casas injured his thumb sliding for a ground ball in June, needed surgery, and barely played during the summer. But expectations are that he’ll move across the diamond to first base in 2019 or 2020, where we think he’ll be quite good."

A writeup that pretty much ignores last season for our top prospect seems questionable at best.

It is weird how some of these were really informative and others were obviously recycled.

The guy they signed out of Korea seems like a real potential sleeper candidate. 98-101 mph and has only been pitching for 2 years. He’ll be interesting to follow.

One thing about Dalbac that nobody mentions much is that he only became a full time hitter when he turned pro. It’s possible he was a little behind the typical college junior as a result of that. So, his improved K and BB rates in the second half of 2019 are getting underplayed I think.

the GCL lefty, Rodriguez is written up as a soft-tosser,but then they sneak in that he’s throwing low-90s and is only 18. There’s certainly room to-get that to 92-94mph at 21-22 and for a lefty that’s more than enough. Given the pitchability he showed, I think he’s under-ranked.

They've had some luck in that department with Mata and Bello who were both in that 88-90 range at 18 and are now in the 93-96 range. I like Rodriguez a bit, hopefully he does get the bump. On a site note, kind of amazing there hasn't been a Jorge Rodriguez make the majors. There have been 15 in the minors.
