Moving the Line
They’re basically my #1 outlet for baseball news and modern commentary on the game of baseball, and that especially holds true these days to be a much needed escape and distraction. Ringer presents a pretty grim picture.

It’s a tough time for all of us with larger issues afoot. Any way we can try to revitalize them so they don’t sink? Wish I could do more personally but this community as a collective tends to make the impossible possible. Let’s do this.

I just subscribed to become an ad-free member for $50. Link to their membership subscription page here. Seems like the easiest way for those with the means to do so to help support them.

I'm not a hardcore baseball fan anymore these days, but $50/yr is still easily worth it for what I get out of that site. I'll gladly pay for it.

I did the same. Fangraphs, along with this board, really changed how I thought about the game. Supporting it now seemed like the least I could do - I've easily gotten more than $50 value out of that place.

As I mentioned in the Athletic thread the other day and and as discussed in that Ringer piece, I think this is going to be a financial disaster for most sports journalism outlets, other than the biggest ones like ESPN.

Speaking as someone who has a vested interest -- I'd like to keep my job -- FG could definitely use the support. If monetary contributions aren't a viable option for you, something as simple as reading articles helps. Clicks matter. For those of you solely interested in Red Sox-related content, I've recently done "Talks Hitting" interviews with Michael Chavis and Tim Hyers. And what BH Kim said in the above post is definitely accurate. This is a tough time for sports journalism.
