I got a laptop recently through work to replace my desktop.  We use several excel based macros.  All of my macros that only interact with excel work fine.  But we have macros that get data and  post data to another program and when i run those excel freezer and I get the (not responding) message.  These macros work for everyone else.  I've ruled out the security settings in excel, and the display settings for the aplication the macro is supposed to interact with.  Any other ideas?  I talked to everyone I know here who knows macros and they were lost.  I tried googling it but the results are excel specific and my excel only macros work fine.  I probably need to open a ticket with IT but that takes a while and they will probably either re-image my computer and just replace it and I'm hoping the solution is easier than that.

Is it a common data source that you get and post to and from?  Maybe the driver that supports that has become corrupt

Did you try doing an office repair?  I have had success with that in the past

Have you done a debug walk-through of the macro to see where it freezes?

Office repair didn't work. It's not a coding issue with the macro because it works on other computers.

I think it has to be some setting that's not right on my computer. I'm going to open a ticket with IT on monday. It's just really odd that it's specific to me.

Is the VBA attempting to connect to external data via ODBC? You might need to have the appropriate ODBC connections set up on your machine.
