Quibble: The Giants haven't set a game 2 starter yet. It could be Samardzija or Moore. Also, Matt Cain and/or Jake Peavy will not see the mound as a starter in this series.

Quibble2: It's really 3 titles in the last 6 seasons for the Giants, as nobody has won it yet in 2016.

I'm headed out to Wrigley tonight for Game 1. The Giants, or many of them, are staying on my hotel floor; didn't see any of them yesterday, but saw their bags being delivered by the bellman.

It's going to be chilly.

That Gillaspie pick off is a good example of why Maddon is so highly regarded as a manager. Good prep, good execution.

This game is pretty entertaining. Watching two teams play well against each other at the same time is actually allowed? That's good to know.

Of course the broadcasters don't have the balls to say that wasn't a swing

This is going to be very old-school, but Lester has "it". He can pitch big games for big markets. Going all sabermetrical on him, you don't do that to guys that have "it".

Price seems to not have "it", maybe not pretty Ricky either. In the playoffs, you gotta have players that have "it".

Lester, Hendricks, Arrieta

this thing is over
give them the title right now.

3 hits, still win.

A-Rod, Pete Rose, and Frank Thomas doing post game. Yeesh.

And A-Rod has to visibly rely on his notes.

I can only wonder what the thoughts are tonight among the Sox braintrust who decided to lowball Jon Lester, while a year later highballed David Price? I suspect we may see a CHB column on that subject between now and Sunday.
