I was going to set one up and the days just got away from me.

So far--Dortmund up 2-0 FC Copenhagen and Dinamo Zagreb up 1-0 on Chelsea, both games at the half.

Reyna with two assists and feeling confident enough back on the field to be abrasive. Very good news for USMNT fans.

Excellent showing for Dinamo Zagreb - snatched one on the counter and to a man played exceptional defensively to keep a clean sheet home to Chelsea.

Most encouraging for me was Sadegh Moharrami keeping Chilwell and Sterling at bay - bodes real well for Team Melli at the World Cup, especially with smoke around Queiroz's return

Chelsea continuing to suck is also good news for USMNT fans, as the sooner Tuchel is fired, the better.

Juve getting run off the field by PSG with our boy Weston on the bench isn’t hurting either. He was pretty meh over the weekend, but this could get ugly and it’s best not to be involved.

Only if you think Boehly is gonna have sufficient trigger speed here. Given the dumb World Cup schedule, I think there are more risks if players are in a horrible club situation induced funk going into the WC than there would be in the sensible version where there's more time for head clearing.

I suppose that gets made up for by the guys who will be on heaters, but I don't like it for Pulisic unless Todd flexes his Abramovitch muscles

Weston heard the thoughts in my head about "maybe you start Musah and drop Weston for Reyna" and reminds me why he needs to be there. Really enjoying this "too many upper echelon players for the USMNT to get all on the field" thing, hope Weah gets back healthy and starts emphatically restating his case as well.

Napoli damn close to a dream start.

I usually hate the atmosphere at stadiums with a track, but the Maradona is an exception.

He stepped across right where Virgil’s foot was going to land. LFC haven’t covered themselves in glory but come on

Weird VAR-ness in the Barca-Pilzen match.

Pilzen's Mosquera throws a vicious and not at all accidental elbow flush into Christiensen's jaw. The ref has the red card in his hand but gets called over to the VAR monitor, where he reviews and downgrades the penalty to a yellow.

It looked bad in real time and almost criminal in slow-mo.

Marseille are outplaying Spurs through the first half hour but haven't generated anything to show for it. This has been a cagey midfield game with only four total shots so far and none in the box from either team.

Napoli are a damn good side this year but this Liverpool team has looked completely out of sorts against everybody but a Championship side.

This isn’t the same Liverpool as last year. This Napoli team was entertaining last year and even more so this season.

Even in the heart of the CB injury crisis, the defense wasn't this bad. Just astounding.

That’s too bad. Osimhen is such a fantastic player but always seems to get hurt.

The commentator for Spurs/Marseille is truly on one. OM are playing better, particularly in the midfield, but he's commenting a game of crushing OM dominance while the actual game has roughly equal possession and shots and a single shot on target by either team.

Has any Liverpool player even managed an average performance? Beyond dreadful , littered with lapses of concentration and individual errors. Should be 5-0. Easily the worst I’ve seen them in the Klopp era.

Elliott has been lively, continuing his streak this season. Otherwise...no.

If I was Klopp, I would have made the team stay out on the pitch for half time.

Can we at least see Arthur since we have nothing at all to lose? Nunez, Jota, Arthur, my mom for Firmino, Salah, Milner, Gomez?

The announcer must be devastated by that OM red card for one of the most obvious DOGSOs you'll ever see.
