Yeah, obvious red card. I think going down to 10 men will really require Sweden to come out of its shell.

I get the reasoning--it's a reckless, high boot, but I don't think it's as straightforward as they made it out to be. If the Ukranian player gets there a second earlier or later, it's probably nothing.

He attempted a legitimate play on (and won) the ball. It's not a Pepe Special where he goes 3 feet over the ball into his ankle.

I'm with you here. Like, it's an ugly clash but he got the ball and the attacker didn't.

To me, it looks like Danielson only has eyes for the ball, and accomplishes his job of winning the clearance. The Ukranian player is irrelevant to what Danielson is trying to do there. Similar to a player inadvertently catching someone with his elbow when pumping his arms to win a header.

It's reckless (and a horrific outcome) and I understand why it's a red, but more brutal challenges have been yellows.

In a battle of "Who can withstand the most physical punishment?" I will be picking the Ukrainians.

I think this is a fair assessment, but still, an easy red, imo (at least with the way they've been calling them for he past decade+)

If Ukraine loses on PKs that will be such a gut punch loss. Sweden is all out of gas and playing a man down.
