Haven't seen it if he did. I did see Adam Shefter just RIP the Ravens a new one this morning and was quite impressive. Even Hannah Storm was like- dude, bring it down a notch.

I don't know where else to put this ... Chris Berman's performance tonight on the Chargers-Cardinals game is beyond cringe-worthy. It's sad. He sounds totally senile.

I can't fathom anyone anywhere liking Chris Berman, even a little bit. I couldn't stand him when we were both younger and I can't stand him now. I will be so thrilled when he's done at ESPN.

Yesterday, the National Organization for Women released a statement calling for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's resignation. "The NFL has lost its way. It doesn't have a Ray Rice problem; it has a violence against women problem," the statement read.
First Take host Cari Champion read a passage from this statement on the show, and then debate was embraced. Skip Bayless said that maybe Goodell should go; Stephen A. Smith went full Facebook commenter.
"I'm sorry, I think this woman is off her rocker. I think she's lost her mind," Smith said. "That's right, I said it."
It's basically never advisable to keep saying things after saying, "I said it," but Smith didn't stop there.
"This is the most ridiculous nonsense I've ever heard in my life. Roger Goodell deserves to lose his job? Why are you acting like he's Ray Rice? Roger Goodell didn't hit Janay Palmer Rice. He hasn't hit any women. And by the way, the last time I checked, Skip, why are we talking about the NFL as if it's some cesspool for domestic violence? There's a few cases. It's being dealt with."
Champion stepped in about halfway through, saying, "Well, we gotta wrap," but Smith was working himself up.
"What the hell is this?" he asked. And then he started to yell, ranting for another minute and a half before ESPN cut to commercial.
This isn't a good look for a guy just over a month removed from a suspension he earned for talking about how women should make sure not to make men beat the shit out of them. The NFL quite obviously has a domestic violence problem, and actions like Goodell's initial bullshit two-game suspension of Rice are an obvious reason why. Goodell is, as Smith's colleague Keith Olbermann said, an enabler of "men who beat women." That Smith doesn't see this, or doesn't care, really tells us all we need to know about him.

I don't know whether I should be angry at ESPN or the Ravens fans interviewed (both, probably), but Sportscenter airing a segment of female Ravens fans defending Ray Rice just made me feel dirty.

Fans are idiots and while it is terrible, it is understandable how people will defend someone who has done something awful because of years of attachement to them.
 
ESPN should never be running such a segment, it looks like they are supporting the idea that you can defend Rice and makes Ravens fans look bad, which they do not need help with.

The worldwide leader has certainly fallen from its heights, but I'm still enjoying the ESPN Radio commercials with the calls of the NBA champion, the World Series champion, and the NCAA FB champion. That never gets old.

I dunno, public opinion is pretty overwhelmingly in outrage mode about these latest NFL gaffes. If ESPN kept playing cover up they'd look even worse than Roger, which is pretty bad. Blood is in the water here so it's a bit of a game on mentality now.

ESPN has many faults, and the worst is the way they occasionally select a certain athlete for 24/7 obsessive coverage, ball washing, and idolatry.

Evidently the word has come down on Bristol that JJ Watt is to be given the Lebron/Tebow Let's-All-Clap-Cuz-He-Just-Made-A-Boom-Boom treatment, and the various networks of the Worldwide Leader are even more unwatchable.

What do you guys think of John Buccigross? I find him unbearable, and the only regular SC anchor that I actively dislike. He always seems to be adding in his random two cents about stuff, and he comes off to me as very snobby and unfunny. All I ask from an anchor is for them to talk about what is currently on the screen and nothing else, but Buccigross just can't seem to do that. Knowing ESPN, they probably encourage such behavior.

He drives me absolutely nuts with his #cawlidgehawkey nonsense. Just fucking talk like a normal person. I suppose, for a niche sport like this, that some publicity is better than none though.

A big f*ck you to espn/espn radio I was away from the TV for most of the WorldSeries and I thought I could find the WS on my local ESPN radio here in LA (710 ESPN) to my surprise (not really) I turn to the station and what do I hear? Laker talk. And this has happened for almost every fucking playoff game this year. So I am forced to turn through the whole AM dial in hopes of finding the game. I end up finding the game on the SD ESPN radio station which was beyond staticky. But hey at least I got to hear radio advertisements for the Mexican government!

Edit:  The funny thing is that Law is such a jerk to so many people so often on Twitter (usually deservedly so) that the fact that him speaking truth to Schilling is what's gotten him suspended is truly indefensible.
