Portland
DOB - July 6, 1992
1b/OF (probably 1b)

Recently acquired as the PTBNL in the Elias deal from Seattle. I saw this scouting report linked from Soxprospects: http://baseballcensus.com/2018/01/24/seattle-mariners-eric-filia-scouting-report-baseball-player-evaluation-video-january-2018/

He grades out with a 70-75 hit tool which is pretty rare a grade for any system let alone this one where that would lap the field.

Unfortunately he has two strikes against him: tl/dr, plagiarism and drug abuse (non PED).
Still - this guy will be a must follow for me.

The second suspension was for weed, so whatever. I couldn't find what the first was for.

A corner OF/1B 70 hit/30 power sure is a weird profile.

Maybe he's too stoned to swing hard. But he's really locked in.

Also, plagiarism?!? How does a professional baseball player get suspended for plagiarism? Last I checked, there's no part of the job that requires original scholarship.

EDIT: OK, got it, college.

Stating the patently obvious, for sure but, DD's calculus has to be based in part on his oppo abilities and Fenway. Any similarities to Daubach?
