We may have seen different replays, but from that second one it looked like he actually held up and barely touched him.

edit. ok he did kick him, but he def didn't take a wind up... or kick him as hard as he could.. Offensive player was on his way down regardless of whether or not he was touched.

To me, if VVD goes in for the tackle, doesn’t get the ball and hits Lamela and prevents him from making a play on the ball, that’s a penalty. IDK why a kick where VVD misses the ball completely and instead nails Lamela, preventing him from making a play on the ball, should be refereed any differently.
