6.2M is clearly too low.

that would have the average team spending 93M even if they had all 15 roster spots full right?
hmm interesting, I'm sure that's right since I just realized that Kleber got about that as an early bird. wonder what bbref has wrong.

Edit- I think I figured it out, I think the NBA doesn't pro-rate and bbref does, so bbref has guys making way under the minimum, and NBA doesn't count 10 days, late signings etc.

I'm aware of how the cap works, thanks.

If he's only here for ballast, why stop at 5M per? Why not pay him the maximum amount they can?

At some point the salary isn't ballast, it's an anchor.

Theis at 5M likely isn't an anchor, but still surprising to me they spent that much on an undersized 5 on a team that has no full sized 4s for him to play next to.
You just answered your own question. They need ballast. They could use a big. Theis at 5M is a no brainer and not an anchor. At less cash he would be less useful as ballast, but at more he would be less movable.

Marcus Morris is a Klutch client. He's probably waiting to see how things shake out in LA. If Kawhi doesn't end up there I think he gets a chunk of that money they have to fill out the roster. Otherwise I think he would have signed somewhere else already.
No doubt!! MaMo will sign his rich Lakers deal the minute after Kawhi announces he’s a Raptor or Clipper. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him in LA with a sweet new contract either way.

Yikes. It was like watching the exact opposite of what KG would do in each situation.

This video just made me ill, this was just one game, and he made about a dozen basic defensive errors...

I don't see Enes Kanter starting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTSsK34iISk
Posted that above. Kanter was obviously under orders not to leave the paint. There was a video I also posted that contained a post-game press conference with a reporter asking about HOU having "some success" trapping Steph off the PnR and Stotts replying by asking whether HOU was trapping the PnR when Steph went for 33 in the second half. Here's a transcript: https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/terry-stotts-gets-defensive-about-blazers-game-1-defense-steph-curry

On a lot of those, Kanter was literally executing the game plan. I don't think you can take much out of that - except that Stotts didn't think Kanter trapping PnR would lead to anything good.

Except I also posted some video from a NYK / BRK game where Kanter was trapping PnR and had some good success (although it helped a lot that he had Porzingas behind him ).

Kanter is edging toward all nba for my heart

The only disaster is that hairpiece @getnickwright
What's awesome to me about that video is his "you can make as many edited viral videos about me talking about your team that you want" beginning. I don't know how much that is happened, but he sounds scared about it. Celtics fans represent.

I used to love how Pete Prisco wrote in his columns about Pats fans filling his email with shots at him.

Kanter firing back is great as well.

I already loved the guy from his Mustache Brothers days as well as his effort with a shoulder hanging off this past playoffs. This just cements him as a fun guy to root for even if Nick Wright might be a superior defender than Enes.
Interesting word choice.

That's a nice easy stroke from 3 there.
Can he do that? that one looked pretty smooth. When baynes added his 33% shooting to the lineup it impacted the spacing for the slashers. This would be a nice wrinkle in his development.

He’s apparently been working on it, and he’s a pretty decent FT shooter. The track record of such guys adding a 3 ball is good.

I was with him until he put ketchup on a slice of pizza.

Dude's basically a Turkish Rob Gronkowski, isn't he? Big lovable goofball who just does and tries a bunch of stuff and doesn't care what anyone thinks? Probably less booze and porn stars, but personality-wise, maybe a little?

Probably zero booze and porn stars given his religion.
Well, in Turkey the Muslims drink. Efes Pilsen is a decent light beer as well as a basketball team, and Raki (similar to Ouzo) is the Turkish national drink. Some of the local Turkish red wines are excellent as well.

Okay I am really starting to enjoy this signing. What is the probablility that this team isn't 100x more fun than last years mess?

I am just curious, but which religion promotes these two?
The best one, that's for sure.

You just gotta remember that it's 2019; if the porn star has been drinking, he/she can't consent. OSHA gets real upset about that. You gotta pick one or the other, or at least save all the booze for yourself.
