Finally got out of the way.

May he Rest in Peace and enjoy eternity knowing that not only was he a part of one of the greatest World Series ever played, but one of the all-time great teams in the history of baseball.

First time I ever screamed in anger at a TV set.
Rest in peace.
Still to this day I cannot fathom how not a single member of that umpiring crew saw it was blatant interference, specifically the 2nd base umpire who was in front of the play and had the best few.

Not to mention the assclown behind the plate who was 5 feet away from it.

Unbelievable.

I think it was the very next year, 1976, when Earl Weaver came out to argue with an umpire about an interference call that didn't go his way. He was arguing with the umpire who made the call when Barnett came over from another base and said something like "Wait a minute Earl, I have some experience with interference calls." Apparently Weaver turned around and screamed at him "And you fucked that one up too, Larry!"

Anyway, RIP Ed Ambrister. I don't know much about him, other than that play.
