Pulling Lundqvuist is the sort of lunatic over coaching that seems to happen in this sport way more than others.

Officials in this league just don't get it.
The problem is that at live speed, that looks like a trip 10 out of 10 times. And that's why PK will keep doing this.

Which is why you don't call anything done to Subban unless his arm is hanging off. Because it's a dive 8 out of 10 times.

I can endorse this conclusion.

For fucks sake, is there any doubt in anybody's mind that Subban skated into tho goal ON PURPOSE against the Bruins?

But this happens so many times. Over and over and over again. You'd think the officials might figure it out one day.

At this point let coaches challenge penalties for embellishment if they are wrong make it a 5-3

There's a lot the league could be doing to stop the bullshit. Obviously what the refs are able to do now isn't enough. As TFP says, at live speed, it's just impossible to tell, most of the time.

I've always found this remarkable but never posted it. With all the talk about pulling goalies, putting Hank back in, etc, it's almost unfathomable to me that in his entire tenure as Bruins head coach, he has never once pulled his goalie out of a game in the playoffs.

These three fucking assholes can go a whole intermission without pointing out the fact that their golden boy dove for about the 90th time this playoffs despite having a segment dedicated to a Montreal player diving.

Fuck this channel and this league.

Just another thing I love about the guy.

I thought benching Kessel in the playoffs was stupid "almost only in hockey" over coaching, but I know people disagree with me.

I was about to throw my beer through the TV when Eddie called that dive a legit trip. What a hack.

Should be renamed Eddie Timanus.

I don't mind pulling Hank. The risk is there but the chance that it sparks the team is worth it. In this case, it managed to make the Habs get comfortable just long enough for the team to tie it.

I put Hank back in now, but that's just me.

I think at that the time it could have been construed as such, but looking back it's pretty possible that Claude was trying to accomplish two things.

1. Make a statement to Kessel to positively affect his long term development as a player.
2. Make a statement to the team and core players that things needed to be changed and there needed to be more accountability through and through.

If that was the case, I'd say it was justified and successful on both fronts. From the perspective of trying to win that series, it was definitely over-coaching. But for the long term trajectory of the franchise, it very well might have worked out perfectly.

AV had to stick with Talbot. Once you pull the trigger on a goalie change, there's essentially no going back.

Unless you're Mike Keenan.

I think he's a scumbag on the ice and I can't fucking stand him, but Rene Bourque can shoot the puck.

Not much Talbott could do on that one.

Is there a more hateable franchise than the Canadiens? At this point, I barely care about the Yankees. The Canadiens have been consistently hateable forever. I kinda liked Saku Koivu, but of course the fans couldn't deal with a European captain.

There is no way on any planet that should be a penalty on Nash.

How many times does a goalie get pulled for non-injury reasons, then get put back into the same game? It pretty much never happens. The goalies aren't really conditioned to go shuttle in and out during a game. Once they get pulled, they basically shut it down.

I wouldn't have pulled Lundqvist in the first place, but that's another story.
