Wait, I must be missing something - I thought the Isles played Thursday night and Saturday night then flew west before facing off Monday night? Granted, Thursday was a 2OT loss but they looked fresh enough Saturday. Jet Lag could have contributed but I think the untold narrative in these playoffs is the strength of Tampa’s defensive game. They make opponents look like they’re off their game. Bruins had like 5-6 periods where they looked themselves in that whole series.Feels like this is going to be a Tampa romp, unfortunately. I think Vegas is the only team remaining that matches up well.
Shit scheduling for the Isles. Win Friday night, travel cross country on Saturday, play afternoon game on Sunday. The deck was stacked against them for this one. We'll see if they can recover.
Don’t worry, the Lightning still get free offensive-zone draws despite playing pucks that were “iced.”Oh so they can call a boarding major on Tampa? Had no idea.
I'm still trying to get over the fact that the refs have the ability to review majors and just flat out didn't call anything at all on Paquette's textbook boarding of McAvoy.Oh so they can call a boarding major on Tampa? Had no idea.

The Final will be the first ever to feature 2 starting Russian goalies, assuming the Isles stick with Varlamov if they make it.Tretiak created some legacy.
If you told any North American hockey fan in the 80's, 90's, or aughts, that the 3 last goaltenders in the SC Playoffs would be Russian, they would laugh at you.
Something something Putin. And I'll take any opportunity to post this classic clip:The Final will be the first ever to feature 2 starting Russian goalies, assuming the Isles stick with Varlamov if they make it.
