We've tried before to get all kinds of good vibes going for a draft lottery. I've tried to will the ping pong balls to the local team's favor. No more.  I'm cynical now. I'm banking on a Lakers top 3 pick and the Celtics getting #7 or #8. Let's put our envelopes in the freezer and thumb our noses at the lottery gods. Tune in at 8pm to see another disappointing dance of the ping pong balls.

Any top three, any top three. So crazy that this weird ass ritual has such a lasting effect on a franchise.

Bill Simmons noted on his story today (the unbelievable SECOND story in two days from him) that if the Lakers win the lottery, he will get fired for what he says on ESPN.

secondary question. If the Celtics were guaranteed the #2 pick who would you want to win the #1 pick?

I'd say Knicks.
First it means the #1 player ends up in the opposite conference for his first 5 years.
Second- how fun would it be for the casual Knicks fans to go nuts before realizing that the pick is already traded.
Third- The #1 pick would be the icing on the Melo Trade.

I'd say the Pelicans. I want Anthony Davis to play on a good team, and he'd be a great pair guy to pair with Wiggins.

Failing that, and I know I'm reaching, the Timberwolves, cause I want to give Love a reason to stay.

Both of those options would be pretty solid. Failing that, I'd like Philly to win it and New Orleans to end up 4. Being able to add two of Embiid/Parker/Wiggins/Exum and Noel in one class would be a lot of fun to watch.

unfortunately that is impossible. New Orleans can fall top 3 (and keep it) or 10,11,12 I believe.

Would rather avoid teams like the Wolves that are in the lottery every year because it won't make any difference and we won't ever see the player.

Jalen Rose: "You don't see many International players picked in the lottery have great success. Tony Parker, Ricky Rubio. That's it!"

Oh Jalen, where to begin:

1. Parker was a late 1st round pick, not lottery.
2. Rubio has had great success???
3. Ever hear of that Dirk kid?
4. How the hell do you have a job after being so woefully unprepared as you were in those horrific 6 seconds?

or if you have comcast, you can stream espn on the comcast site.

Actual ping pong balls likely have been drawn and team reps know the results. Now we just await the 'show'.

Locked in a room with no communication devices. One guy from each franchise plays bingo with the ping pong balls as they are drawn in front of them an hour before they are announced. The guys watching the envelopes at 8 still won't know.

In today's day and age can you even imagine being locked in a room with each teams rep and one reporter from each lottery team city without any technology or communication whatsoever to the outside world? Surreal.

I imagine there's a spectacular spread though.

My sources tell me the internet will agree that the fix was in.

Rich Gotham probably knows by now where we are picking because he's the team rep in the room where the ping pong balls are being/have been drawn.

Pagliuca is the team rep on the stage where the results will be unveiled.  He will know the results the same time as everyone else unless Gotham tips him off somehow.

I'm pretty sure included in the cost of the Milwaukee franchise recently included this upcoming #1 pick.

Literally the first thing Mark Jackson said in his first game back on Sunday was about LeBron's better FG% this year during the regular season, that he shot 57 percent and was even higher during the playoffs, at the same time the graphic below his idiotic head showed that LeBron was shooting 56% in the playoffs.

What is the point of twitter if it can't be used to spoil this.  Useless technology.

If the league is serious about the process it wouldn't be possible for Gotham or whoever the Boston reporter in the room is to have contact with anyone outside of the room.

And when Milwaukee gets it, people will still continue to deny this thing is rigged.

Do we agree if they don't get it, it's not rigged?

The drag out is in full effect on espn. I shuddered looking at bilas' best available at 7, 8. I like McDermott to contribute but after this season, worse than top 3 would be rough.

Why are the players present? They each look like they are headed for the firing squad.
ESPN is hoping there is a Milwaukee, Utah, Minnesota top 3 so they can see the best college players in the nation die inside a little bit on live TV.
