Doomsday Scenario: Lakers or Nets?

Awesome. A new holiday to celebrate!
I can't ever find myself rooting for the Lakers. I can't envision any scenario where I would say that I wanted to see them win. Wanting them to win over the Nets is short-sighted. It would have been theoretically the Hated Team d'jour versus the Hated Team of All-Time.
The MLB equivalent would have been the Astros vs. the Yankees in the 2019 ALCS. Did anyone root here for NY (NYY fans excluded of course) to be in the World Series?
Got to keep an eye on the long game folks.

I put in some game thread the following situations I could see rooting for the Lakers, and only these:
1. In a Space Jam-style battle for Plant Earth's survival
2. vs the Taliban Traveling All Stars
3. If (and only if) a Laker win would get Celtics into playoffs at end of season (e.g. last day, Celtics pass someone to make playoffs only if that team loses to Lakers on that speciifc one day)
Otherwise, Lose Lakers Lose
I actually considered the first. But, at work, I have a list of people that I wish to have not give me mouth to mouth in the event I collapse. The reasoning is that if I woke up and saw their face hovering over mine with spittle on their lips, I'd have rather that they just go quietly to my demise. Same premise as to why I excluded the Space Jam scenario.
I live on the Earth so I get that one, but what effect does the Taliban winning a hoops game have on me?
Yeah. Maybe hoops replaces Buszkhashi and ushers in anew gentler era in Afghanistan. There are a lot of positives to a Lakers loss to the Taliban. The memes alone would be great.
You guys make a good point. But man—tough to root for the taliban. Maybe that one is below meteor strike?
Agreed on 1 and 3.
Would add "Lakers regular season win over team X somehow gets our second-hand draft pick into the top 3 of the lottery" or some shit like that. Not that we have those anymore, but someday.
As far as Lakers v. Taliban, I'm neutral.
