This guy has pretty shitty luck. A lot of people drive drunk, very few have a pedestrian run out in front of them on the freeway--he's that guy. 60 yard touchdown-->season ending knee surgery. Hot air balloon ride with his girl-->runs into power lines.

It seems New England has had more than it's share of atheletes having accidents, life-threatening illnesses and deaths over the past 30 years.
I don't feel bad for him (as far as the manslaughter is concerned), but he's no worse a human being than anyone else who has driven drunk. Back in law school, my crim law professor referred to this as losing the punishment lottery. In other words, we're judging him by the results, not by the conduct.Old Fart Tree said:
