Why wasn't there a timeout there? Denver is throwing on 3rd down, and if it's incomplete there's about 2:30 with no timeouts vs 2:00 with 1 timeout after the next play.

Calling the timeout at 2:02 is awful decision.  Much better to wait...  If they get another first down on the next play, T/O is wasted.  Better to lose the 2 seconds, run the 1st down play, then take the T/O

Why aren't the announcers talking about the fact that San Diego called a timeout 2 seconds before the 2 minute warning?  WTF is going on right now.

Okay -- SD is really done now.

This Broncos team does not look invincible -- not by far.

They look a lot like the 2004-2006 colts.

WHY THE FUCK DID SAN DIEGO JUST CALL A TIMEOUT?

Good timeout, saved a few seconds.

Its at 1:57 going into second down, would be around 1:54 if they waited til after the 2 minute warning.

Fuck you Rivers, you had 45 minutes to throw the fucking ball.
Agreed. They had a shitty game plan for 3 quarters. No one to blame but themselves.

100% incorrect

I couldn't imagine being a San Diego fan. They didn't come out to play this game at all, and they somehow still have a chance to make a run at the game and they fuck that up in  horrific fashion. A joke of a performance by their defense in the 4th quarter.

This is correct.  The timeout also would have been wasted with an incomplete pass, or a run that ended up out of bounds.  Much better to wait until after the 2 minute warning.

And even better would have been calling a timeout with 2:35 left, prior to the 3rd and 5 or whatever.  If that pass to Julius Thomas is incomplete, you get the ball with 2:30 on the clock.

Why?

If you call the TO after the 2 minute warning, then you're UNDER 2 minutes by a few seconds...call it before and you have run two plays and are at 2:00 even.

Can't believe the Chargers let their season die because they didn't defend Thomas - fucking THOMAS - on 3rd and 17.

Calling the timeout was an okay call there, although it did allow Denver to pass without much worry.

It's not an ok call. They knew they could pass and you only saved 2 seconds.

The problem with the TO - is that it did let Denver throw without clock concerns... though you could make a case that SD actually would want them to do that to have a chance at a TO... though I didn't see any SD players jumping routes, etc..

If you call the timeout on the other side of the 2 min you save 30 seconds...not 2 seconds...right?

Yes. Time is at a premium here. They saved 2 seconds with that TO.

McDaniels - don't get super fucking conservative next week. Play aggressively to win the damn game. The Broncos' defense sucks, go no huddle all game.
