I'm gonna go with the AFC games being relative snoozers - 10-17 point margins in both - with the NFC having tight games.

I live in Minneapolis. My Packers fan friend scheduled his kid's birthday party on Sunday during the Vikings game. I don't care, obviously, but that's some cold shit to all the Vikes fans that are invited. I'm kind of impressed.
Do what my little league parents often did: drop the kids off and run. Sometimes, but rare, they didn’t even pick them up after the game.

I would 100% skip the party out of principle.

Maybe he's having the party so everyone can watch the game together while the kids play? Otherwise, that's stone cold. He is a Packers fan, so it's probably cold and not congenial.

He’s probably the guy who would obnoxiously say things like, “woah, that’s not good!” or “uh oh...” every time the Saints did something good.

I think I hate him.

I THINK I'd prefer him over several of the detestable species of 'viewer' that parachute into the NFLverse like so many swallows for the four hours the Super Bowl is aired.

Maybe.

Does it alternate each year which network has to give one of the games to NBC?

I don’t know if it’s official policy but so far it’s switched back in forth.

Ravens/Pats
Packers/Cardinals
Steelers/Chiefs
Falcons/Eagles

I have a Packers fan coworker who I felt sorry for after Rodgers went down earlier this year ... only to have her tell me yesterday that "the league favors the Patriots" and she actively roots for a Brady injury on every snap.

In short, fuck Packers fans.

Here
Brown is a game-time decision, looks like there’s been more “gamesmanship” from Tomlin regarding playoff injuries.
Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown is expected to be a game-time decision, a source told PFT, as Brown’s calf injury remains an issue.

If Brown is hobbled and ineffective, btw, that changed my rooting interests. Give me Pitt with no Brown over Jax.

Tell her that's bad Karma and probably why Rodgers got hurt. Because she sounds stupid enough to possibly believe it.

Based on that video of him running routes I’m sure he’ll play. I just doubt his effectiveness. It’s one thing to be doing that in 75 and sunshine at partial speed and doing it in 25 at playoff speed against Jalen Ramsey.

Bell’s performance seems to be a bigger barometer of PIT success anyway. Brown went for 150 vs. JAX this year and they lost. Part of that is obviously from playing behind but IIRC that pattern has held during games against NE as well.

Of course, Brown may still be ready next week.
Maybe, but I doubt it. If he’s shaky this week and practicing/plays, it’s likely not getting the rest it should. I’d be surprised if he plays and doesn’t reinjure it.

My guess is he reinjured it already, hence his missing practice yesterday for being “sick.”

Enough beating around the bush — sly intimations in other threads without flat out saying it.

Who, if anyone, is calling for the upset in Pittsburgh tomorrow?

Not I. Steelers win comfortably, with or without Brown.

I’ll say 27-13 Steelers.

Who cares?

Anyway, speaking of upsets, it seems like everyone is just handing Atlanta the win due to Foles. I think the Eagles defense dominates and wins a low scoring game.

Atlanta's passing offense has largely lived off its rep this year, they've seldome carried a game.

Nobody runs on PHI's D, so they're gonna need a big time resurgence from the passing game. I don't think that's a layup.

Count me as excited to watch Fletcher Cox vs Alex Mack

I'll call it. Brown won't play or will be a decoy and it will screw PIT up. JAX will score enough off of PIT's paper tiger D. Just a gut feeling.

Can Eagles D and January weather at the Linc hold down the Falcons? I think the answer to that question is yes.

I really want to pick the Eagles as a straight winner, but I can't convince myself that Nick Foles can lead an upset over a pretty good team.

I think its an under game

something like Falcons 21-(13-17).

It's not like the Falcons offense has been clicking, all season really. I could easily see a 20-16 type of Philly win where they keep Atlanta out of the end zone and get a pick or two off Ryan.

The Falcons offense is basically the inverse of the Patriots defense, or something. They are third in yards per drive, first in TOP / drive, I believe first in 3rd down percentage, but they are 15th in scoring because they've had few drives, they've had the second-worst starting field position in the league, and they've struggled in the red zone.

Dungy asks Quinn in light of the last super bowl, and Georgia’s lead in the college championship game, what happens if the Falcons get up by 2 touchdowns. He should have said Nick Foles sucks too much to make a big comeback. Blew it.

Rooting for Philly to deliver some soul crushing misery to Atlanta because I'm just a mean person.

The wife probably set the date without realizing. My wife once scheduled a wedding shower on the Super Bowl.

All kid parties should be drop-offs. A couple close friends of the hosts can stick around to keep watch and the other parents get some time off.

Yeah Chris big deal that the guy fumbled on first down in Falcons territory.
