#DFG: Canceling the Noise

Is there any level of suspension that you would advise Tom to accept?

I wonder what kind of look BB and TB exchanged when Kraft told them he was speaking first

Ryan's not looking so good these days.

Edit: Although, he still looks better than Peyton.

On the other hand, his arm is probably in better shape today than Peyton's

I'm shocked, SHOCKED, that PFT has yet to share the NYNewsday report that this was definitely not a sting. Don't give credence to the leaks that don't serve your narrative, I guess.

Well the other way this is being interpreted by some of the sports radio shows I am hearing is that Kraft is throwing his weight around with Goodell. If the NFL ends up exonerating the Patriots, you will hear some folks point to this as Goodell caving to one of his most powerful bosses.

There is one certainty here - regardless of the outcome, there will always be people who believe that the Patriots did something wrong in this year's AFCG.
That's idiotic. If Kraft were exercising force and influence it would be behind closed doors, not in a press conference.

This is definitely unprecedented in American sports, right? I'm not sure if the media circus is actually larger than Rice, but it's definitely the first time I can think of a league openly calling one if its own organizations collective liars.

Is that happening?  Can you post a link if it does please, I'm having trouble navigating to other parts of the site.  Cheers.

Been a fan of Vox, but disappointed that they ran with those questionable articles implying that the deflated balls help the Pats not fumble.

Matt Chatham on NESN thinks the Commish himself is behind today's leak. Reaction to Pats not bowing down to him enough.

Fran Tarkenton was just on some show on Fox Business sounding like Grandpa Simpson. Started the interview by calling the Colts "Seattle" by mistake and ended with his conspiracy theory the league is covering this up.

Morgan Lewis, Boston, nee Bingham McCutchen, does most of the Pats' legal work. They have a few blue collar mentality litigation partners who are generally pretty cheerful about a donnybrook.
Wouldn't that be a 'right donnybrook'?

Why is Browner talking shit about Sherman? Seems counterintuitive with this mess going on.

He was asked how he'd attack them. He said of course we'd go after the elbow. He didn't mean as a cheap shot.

The only positive to come from this BS investigation and story for me personally is that my wife (a non sports fan) has gotten so pissed off that she went out and bought her first piece of Patriot's gear and proudly proclaims that she wants to wear it ever day until Sunday.

This whole thing is so unfair and ridiculous that it caused an unbiased, non-sports fan to have compassion for the Patriots.

Screw you Roger.
Screw you NFL.
Screw you Indy.
Screw you Baltimore.
Screw you media.

Go Pats!

This deserves its own thread,

Either way it's dumb with the microscope on your team.

This Sherman-Browner trolling is the sideshow anyways. I doubt either side cares a whit.

Of course, now the NFL will fine the Patriots $2 million dollars for that comment.

I love the tire pressure tangents.  Good, squishy, personal, anecdotal, not-at-all applicable, tangential evidence.

Chancellor (I believe) already commented and said essentially that makes perfect sense if you;re trying to win.

I'm not seeing this at all. Of course they are going to be physical with Sherman and Thomas. It's hyperbole.

I'm officially at the point where I believe Roger is letting this thing remain an issue because he likes the attention it's drawing to the league.

His silence is deafening. He knows what he's doing.

It's a trick. Being silent is the only way he can look like he might know what he's doing.

Agreed, it's mostly that. These two guys just won a ring together less than a year ago.

But there's probably some "pissed off" in there too. Sherman piled on to the scandal talk, so I'm sure many on the team see him as a legitimate, on field target.

A quote from the news day article

"The idea that Mike Kensil would have it out for the Patriots is just false," a person familiar with the situation said. "It was not an amicable parting."

Odd sentences to have back to back. Unless the source doesn't really know what amicable means.

He was going to be an on field target regardless.  It's common practice and solid strategy when a key player has a real injury

Kensil was fired by the Jets, so carrying water for them by kneecapping the Pats doesn't take, from the sources view.
