#DFG: Canceling the Noise

Is there any level of suspension that you would advise Tom to accept?

This is what it must feel like to be a Yankee fan. Lonely and despised.
Are you high??? The Yankees get FELATED by the national media on a daily basis. There's no Tim McCarver treatment for the Pats and there never will be.

Kraft point out the media leaks had to be in response to the Glazer report ... after the league probably toild them to not discuss it again

I just meant in general. I always imagine that Yankee fans, deep down, feel cold and empty watching their soulless team. It makes me sad having people lessen the accomplishments of BB and TB.

Going to guess Roger Goodell won’t be getting an invite to next year’s soiree at the Kraft house.

For the Idiocracy crowd facing us daily:
Find your car's owners manual, look up "Tires - Inflation".  Read the blurb that states unequivocally to check tire pressure only when the tires are cold  (mine has lots of juicy details with numbers and such, yeah).  If the blurb makes sense, great!,  You now understand why TB and BB are likely being railroaded.  If the blurb hurts your brain find a smart person and ask them why your car maker people tell you when to check your tires.   Be happy you learned something today and now understand why BB and TB and now RK are pissed.

I am willing to bet most people (including Neil Degrasse Tyson and Bill Nye) know to check tire PSI when cold.  Maybe this is unsciency enough for regular folks to understand.  I'm also not naive enough to think it will open any minds.  Sad really.

Here
Let's predict the next NFL leak:

"ESPN has learned that the ball attendant in question received a check on behalf of the New England Patriots just days after the incident in question."

I like Pos, and I hope he's not intentionally equating the Patriots with mobsters, because that would be very fucked up coming from a guy who bought Joe Pa's bullshit hook, line, and sinker.

Well surprise, surprise.

We talked about 23 hours ago in this thread about the appropriate response by Bob Kraft. Glazer dropped his bomb fueled by snakes in the NFL office. Ted Wells said, uh oh -- but too late. Bob just launched a retaliatory strike, merely a part of the appropriate response. Gloves off.

I think all he was doing was cracking a joke.

Agreed. I don't think he was trying for an exact metaphor there.

Although, I was hoping Kraft would go full-Pacino in "... and Justice for all"

I know it was a joke, but I don't know what to make of it.

He's a smart guy, and a bit of a movie buff, so I find it hard to believe that it would be beyond his ken that Tom Hagen was blustering to protect a bunch of criminals.

For fuck's sake, its Twitter. Who the hell knows what Joe Posnanski meant besides him? I took it as him making a pop culture reference in a ham fisted manner fwiw.

Perfect from Kraft. Message to Roger given: you are gonna have to earn your dough here. We aren't giving you an out from your leaky office full of agendas. Show a winning hand or exonerate us and deal with the media fallout you created. No Friday news dump or half measure "we can't prove what happened blah blah meow chow 300,000 fine they were probably shady"

All predicated on Bb and Brady being truthful of course. I believe them but, as silly an issue as this is, they're both gone if they aren't being truthful

Totally agree.  From the Saturday 'change the story' PC, to the NFL's next leak, to this shot across the bow you can almost see the deeper politics here.

Would not shock me if Mara, Rooney, or some other respected owner comes out and criticizes the leaks next.  they may or may not like the Pats, but I'll bet they believe Kraft and don't like the way this has run.

It's very common as a rabid sports fan to say "fuck this league" when any number of things goes against my teams. It is truly bizarre, though, for the leadership of one of my teams to stand in front of a mic and basically say the same thing.

Bizarre and awesome.

Well the other way this is being interpreted by some of the sports radio shows I am hearing is that Kraft is throwing his weight around with Goodell. If the NFL ends up exonerating the Patriots, you will hear some folks point to this as Goodell caving to one of his most powerful bosses.

There is one certainty here - regardless of the outcome, there will always be people who believe that the Patriots did something wrong in this year's AFCG.

It's troubling that the NFL can find the video of a locker room attendant in a week and never see the Rice elevator video ever!

Holy shit. That's amazing!

And here's what that looks like after the National Media run with it:

"Looking smug and conceited, arrogant New England Cheatriots coach Bill Belicheat today announced that footballs are exactly the same as car tires. Like it isn't obvious to EVERYONE that they are completely different! Sorry Bill, we aren't stupid cheaters like you!"

It is silly. I believe them without question and without fear of either Belichick or Brady being dishonest.

Welp, Robert Kraft just dropped a bomb on the NFL.

Yeah, that statement by Kraft went WAY beyond the typical "We're happy to assist the NFL in whatever blah, blah, blah..." The 3 most visible people in the history of the NE Patriots franchise have called the NFL's bluff.

I can't imagine what conversations are being had in private.
