Amazing how mediocre this Blues team looks when the refs actually call penalties against them.

So I realize that I'm looking at this through my Joe Thornton biased eyes (and probably wearing that stupid Freddie Kitchens t-shirt) but does the fact that Mrazek swung at him/slashed him with the goalie stick first mitigate any of that? Or am I just sad that one of my favorite players did something Ulf Sammuelson-like?

Ehhhh. I mean, Joe took a late poke at the puck, and Mrazek didn't exactly take a two hander.

I... I kind of love it. Mrazek flopping and obviously being fine is a big reason why, of course.

Joe got em with a solid jab there, but he's got a cage on, he's fine. Don't have a problem with the embellishment either, that's what any goalie should do when a position player punches them in the mask.

Clear upward movement with the leading leg into the back of Kotkaniemi getting him up so that when his hip hits the board it acts as a pivot point to topple him over. Super dangerous hit and should get an in-person at least.

Gritty and the Bunch of Jerks are the best things to come out of the NHL (off-ice) in the past decade.

1/3: Something you never want to see,
@OHLIceDogs
G Tucker Tynan appears to have been cut by a skate by a London player in the crease. He was quickly attended to by medical staff who stopped the bleeding and got him onto a stretcher.

2/3: As he was being attended to, a London supporter heckled medical staff and Niagara fans, prompting his removal. A brawl ensued as the fan was escorted from the building.

3/3: The #NIAvLDN game has been postponed. Score was 2-1 London in the early second period

Hearing Tynan's injury was to his leg, likely a skate knicked an artery. Remember the blood is under pressure there, which would explain the amount of blood. Quick work by medical staffs should hopefully mean the injury is not as bad as it looks.

That's a whoooole lotta blood...

Jackets beat Caps for the second time in seven days. That's one more win than the Bruins have achieved n five years.

And Acciari gets a (checks notes) hat trick tonight.

Half kidding but is JT Miller an elite player? Tampa sucks now and Vancouver doesn’t*. Makes you think...

* relatively speaking

For background, the incident happened in OT last night in their game against Chicago. Chicago took a delay of game penalty with 19.2 seconds left and the officials let an additional 1.1 second run off the clock. For whatever reason they never put the time back on. Columbus ends up scoring .2 or .3 seconds after the buzzer, close enough that that 1.1 would’ve made a difference. Then Korpisalo got injured in the shootout, hence “we lost the game and we lost our goalie.”

In soccer, they would have let that go.

Like the college atmosphere with each team having "sections"
