Imagine telling an NBA fan, even 15 years ago, that a 21 point lead with five minutes left isn't safe.

Is Joe punishing Tatum for his lackluster play? I don't understand why he's still in.

I’m still not over this overachieving Heat team knocking out the Celtics in ‘20 and ‘23, the talent disparity is just crazy, even when Butler is healthy and playing. Beat them whenever possible, by as much as possible.

I'm surprised Joe didn't let Walsh get some garbage-time run, just for the reps.

I know it's garbage time, but it's such a bummer that JD looks COMPLETELY different on an NBA floor. No drives to the paint. No attempt to score. No floaters. No pick and roll. Just brings it over the half line and moves the ball to someone else.

He can't seem to excel without a huge physical/athletic advantage over the opponent, which is kind of a bummer for him.

I would not be surprised if Joe asked him if he wanted to come out and JT said no to work through stuff
Yeah exactly this. He shoots his way out of slumps, always has, which is why his troubles at the olympics were so depressing (can't shoot your way out when you're on an all-star team without looking like a total Kobe in the worst way).

I spent time listening to the Heat broadcast (I always try opposing teams broadcasts for at least a quarter) and this was pretty rough. Multiple times they celebrated their one (1) win against Boston in last year's playoffs, they were convinced Jaylen tripped over his own feet when the heat defender kicked his legs from behind, and they were sure Pritchard traveled on his end of quarter layup in the 3rd. The one interesting moment was late in the game when Tatum was still in, one of them wondered out loud why he was still in the game late, and the other remarked that Tatum "just loves to play," noting that he is averaging over 36 minutes and has played every game so far, followed by heavy sighs from both. Delightful.

Pritchard absolutely took 3 steps after the gather on one of his layups from running into the paint in the 1H. But I think the refs are just gonna give it to him because 3 of his steps are like 2 of a big man's steps, they just don't see him taking an inordinate amount of time or distance post-gather so it doesn't register.

That buzzer beater was a thing of beauty though. Knew exactly how long he had. Half-court heaves aren't the only way to do it in a pinch!

In a game with no Butler or Love or Jovic, how does T-Rozay only play 22 minutes and take 6 shots?
Miami was on the 2nd night of a road back-to-back.

In a 3pt loss to Toronto Terry played 29 minutes

Boston was up 15 by half & it didn't even feel that close. It was over by that point, with no Jimmy. Plus, Kornet was playing like Russell, gumming up Bam over the first 3 Quarters.

CJM played chess with Spoelstra, matching every SPO substitution, so Miami held no style advantages. It's that kind of in-game detail where CJM has taken it up several notches as opposed to his first season.

Kinda hope Jerod Mayo was watching...
Ha...I'm a NY Giants fan, and from my perspective, the Patriots look glorious.

Yikes, the stink emanating from Piscataway between the Jets, Giants, and whatever toxic chemicals the local industrial plants can pump out on a cloudy day is at an all-time high.

As far as the Celtics, they are in phenomenal hands with Brad, Zarren, CJM and JAYs/White. Just wish Brad/Zarren would walk over to Fenway and run that place PT.
