Great day for the pats. 1 year of Chandler jones or 1 year of Chris long, an extra second pick, cap savings and a high upside lottery ticket at guard is an easy choice.

Go get another TE, draft best player available/stock pile picks and call it an offseason

I generally agree but you might be double counting a bit there with Long and the cap savings. We don't know what Long got but it's safe to assume that his signing ate into the $5.4 mm they saved in the Jones/Cooper exchange.

No no you got it all wrong, he's paying the Pats for a shot at a ring. They only use cap space for giving players 25 cents on the dollar, how dare they pay *GASP* market value!

Wow, that is amazing. I know he has lost a step, but in this market he must have left millions off the table. Well, this year at least. Maybe it makes him more in the long run, but he definitely gave up some security.
