Naturally, since a # of us want to see Masa moved up in the lineup, he's now moved down to a place where he may or may not get a chance to drive someone in. We'll see how that works out, but if I were pitching to him in front of Quique and Reyes, I might just walk him. But, I'm probably wrong; we'll see.

Another bad game. I have to acquit
Cora on that one. (I'm no hypocrite.)
The guys on the field made a mess of it.
Sometimes the Red Sox forget how to hit
with runners on base. Sometimes they commit
ridiculous errors that would befit
the Keystone Cops or a Benny Hill skit.
Our starters and bullpen sometimes get lit
up, so it’s hard to know which ones to sit.
Though there are days when the Sox looks like s#!t,
it's a likeable squad, semi-close-knit,
who've bounced back before, displaying true grit.
Can we show we're real and not counterfeit?
Can we restore faith and hope just a bit?
Can we survive this slide into the pit?
Can we outplay or outlast or outwit?
Can we get a win for a series split?

Hopefully what happens in *front* of him (multiple runners on, wecanhope) will make pitching around him less attractive.

He has Verdugo, Turner and Devers hitting in front of him ... he'll never come up with anyone on base

Over the last 2 years, (since June 2021) the Red Sox have won only 13 of 42 games against Tampa, being outscored by 54 runs, 172 to 226.

And that all includes the meaningless 3-game sweep we had at the end of last season, and our 20-8 win in 2021 where they had a catcher pitch an inning who allowed 6 runs.

If the Sox can string 'em together like this, we're going to be in the midst of it.
