deep inside Guido territory

Danny Ainge suffered a mild heart attack in Milwaukee on Tuesday night. He received immediate medical attention and is expected to make a full recovery. He will return to Boston shortly. Further updates will be provided as appropriate.

Scary stuff but I'd have a heart attack too the way the Celtics played in the second half. In all seriousness get well Danny.

Yeah if he was blinded by rage during the 28-2 run, he's got plenty of company in the Celtics gamethread. Maybe we should check on some of our fellow posters...

I thought he did-around 2009-2010 I thought he had another "mild" heart attack.

Thankfully, I havent had much experience with heart attacks in my family. Is there really such a thing as a "mild" heart attack?
I had a minor heart attack last year. Like that word better.

I don't know what shocked me more on twitter today: that Ainge had a heart attack, or that he currently holds a Toronto blue Jays record.

Apparently Vlad Jr has a month or so to grab the "youngest Blue Jay rookie to hit a home run" record from Ainge.

My father had a mild one last year and I asked this same question. The doctor told us that the mild/massive term could be used to determine whether a smaller or larger artery is involved or whether there is complete or partial blockage of blood flow.

In Celtics tradition we will never truly know the extent of Ainge’s actual version.

Jesus. Seems like not so long ago that I was at the Garden watching Ainge's pre-game warm-ups before his official debut (on 12-09-81), super-excited about what kind of a pro he might become.

Sigh. Take care of yourself, eat right, and get well soon, Danny!

I was at the opener in 1986. Ended up sitting near his family. Didn't know it til he wandered over before the second half, waved, and his blonde wife and a bunch of little blonde kids waved back. Time flies and 60 approaches.
Howsabout a blowout in consideration of the GM's ticker?

We do know he'll be back on Wednesday.

If this isn't his first "mild" heart attack, have to wonder if he will retire.
If not retire, maybe take a more balanced approach to his job. Putting in long hours at a strenuous, high pressure job at age 60 after two heart attacks is foolish. Maybe it's time to groom a successor and move toward taking a role as a senior adviser.

I think Zarren is that guy already. I've been wondering why he hasn't taken another job. It might make sense if he's unofficially been named the successor.

Stress is only one part of that equation. We old, chunky guys can lose weight and stay off the sodium and cut the risk dramatically as well. At least he doesn't have coffee, nicotine, and gak complicating things.

Not that we wouldn't understand if he carpet bombed the problem by trying all of the above, including destressing his life, but switching from chipotle to sushi and lean chicken breast would do just as much for his wellness as delegating contract negotiations.
