Discussing what happens when they postpone this game doesn't mean we don't care what happens to the player.Doubt it. I have money on the game - Cincinatti +4 in fact… I really don’t care about the bet right now. Anyone who does is a selfish POS
So long as the players in the locker room know they won’t be forced to play unless that’s what they want, I’m not particularly bothered if they wait an hour or two to let the rest of us know what the plan is. It’s possible we’ll know a lot more about Hamlin’s condition in an hour, and it’s a lot easier to announce that the game will resume tomorrow if we know Hamlin is stable. (In the worst case scenario, I’m not sure playing tomorrow is all that much better than resuming the game tonight.)He's an NFL owner, so I think I have him fairly pegged.
Why? Because it's the right thing to do, isn't that obvious? These players are shaken to their core, they aren't going to be in the right mindset to go out and play after waiting an hour to find out if a teammate is alive.
Call it now, let people regroup and make a plan tomorrow to either call it a tie, cancel it or reschedule.
You don’t have to make a decision right now but if you don’t think Joe Chiefsfan is going to be livid if for examples both teams are give a win (or Billsmafia fan is going to be maddening the bills don’t get a chance to play for a win to get the bye) you don’t know sports fans.Doubt it. I have money on the game - Cincinatti +4 in fact… I really don’t care about the bet right now. Anyone who does is a selfish POS
Looks like 4 miles:
Believe me, everything has been planned for. The coverage is being done respectfully and well. There’s nothing to say by the commentators, but they can’t cut away.ESPN pays nearly $3 billion per year to air MNF and nobody ever thought to game plan this situation.
As a Bama fan who grew up rooting for the Steelers, I should hate Joe Burrow, but I’ve always liked the guy.
You get the feeling the players are saying ”fuck this shit, if we walk out the door the game is definitely not restarting”View: https://twitter.com/pauldehnerjr/status/1610105711362449408?s=46&t=-NVsti5kTcU1g5rt2n_DBg
Burrow and the other CIN captains in the Bills locker room
So they are irresponsible for not preparing for something that’s happened twice in 30 years across all major sports aired on TV. Should they prepare for a fan man scenario too?In the NFL, maybe. But players have collapsed and some have died on the field/court in too many cases. Remember Hank Gathers? And the Dutch soccer player recently…
