The Red S have played eight home games against NL Central teams, they have lost all eight. They are 3-0-1 in road series against the NL. This may be the oddest Sox team I've ever seen.

And it isn't like this iteration of the Reds is a Murderer's Row. I have a Vice President of the Cincinnati Reds who sits on the Board of the organization I run and I couldn't name three people on the team. Cesar Geronimo would be the undisputed king of the team if he played today.

This Reds team is young, but they aren't awful. Losing to them isn't embarrassing or anything.

Losing to them by playing terrible defense, making dumb baserunning mistakes, and walking the bases loaded before throwing a pitch I could put in play and allowing a backbreaking Grand Slam, however, has really sucked.

Miami (oh, Miami!)

Does walking the bases loaded imply you have faced the minimum 3 batters? (Asking for a friend.)

The Pirates are a shoe in for a trip to the World Series, haven't you heard?

The Reds and Cardinals, not so much.

I would love to have India on the Red Sox. And Stephenson. And Greene.
Spencer Steer is a professional hitter, as well.

Benson, Fraley, Friedl is a not terrible outfield.
Let's not overlook their young prospects on the cusp. Matt McLain has been tearing it up since his call-up and their top kid, Elly De La Cruz, is pounding on the door (.303/.401/.648/1.049 in AAA). Frankly, Jonathan India might be out of a job soon.

This year marks the first series win for the Reds against the Red Sox since 1975.
true. but it's only the 8th time they've played a series since then. And 2 of them were 2 game splits. #statsincontext
