No not the song.

Talking to another set of parents (who have a girl) they informed me a little perplexed, that "EVERYONE" in our towns LL now needs a cup.

By everyone they mean Boys, Tee-Majors and Girls Tee- Softball.

I truly dont care....my son has been wearing one since last year when he was 7 ("might as well get used to it buddy").

My wife and the other parents found it amazing that the girls needed to have one.   I shrugged and was like "Whatever".

Any other leagues have this requirement?

Anyone with a girl (or coaching a girl team who have members) who wears a cup?

Do they have female versions?  A 30 second google search didnt seem to show one.

Thought it was interesting our council would mandate for everyone.

I am reasonably sure they do manufacture a girl's "cup", for lack of a better term. Anatomically shaped for a female. Not sure what the technical term is called, but ask around at sporting goods stores, they should know, particularly if towns are requiring it. There's definitely one made for hockey, but I think a softball one is a different piece.

Not super helpful, I know.

In the rec league where my kids used to play only boys playing catcher have to wear them. One game when the kids were about 10 our opponent did not have any boys with cups and a girl had to catch all 6 innings.

That's all I got...

Beerabelli - Classic Bad News Bears, love it.

Catchers have to wear them in our town, optional for anyone else.

I'm in the camp that says if you're playing baseball, you should be wearing a cup, take one hard hit ball (bad hop or whatever) off your testicles and you'll wear one every time you play baseball the rest of your life.  The new spandex briefs/shorts with the pocket in the front and a more ergonomically shaped cup seem pretty comfortable, there's no good reason not to wear one if you're a male.

My daughter played softball a couple years and I never heard of a female cup. It's absurd to make girls wear them.  Probably someone complained that it wasn't fair that girls didn't have to wear them.  I wouldn't want to be the one who has to enforce that rule.

A female can be injured in that area as well, but wearing a male cup isn't going to protect them.

They have to have the correct equipment.
