Mariners send ex-Sox draftee RHRP Hunter Strickland to Washington for AA LHRP Aaron Fletcher. I like that trade for Seattle.

Looks like the Mets have everyone after Wheeler at this point. Somehow, I'll have the feeling they'll find a way to blow it, either asking too much or getting a 28 year old AA arm with no options remaining.

I wonder if ARI will lower their price for Ray now that they got Gallen.

That or they know Ray’s definitely gone this winter.

Good time to strike the Marlins for pitching in any case. They’ve got about 7-8 viable starters right now.

I wouldn't count DD out. I still think we pick up one of the SF relievers.
I just saw a story on either 'EEI's or NESN's Facebook feed that says the Sox are "frustrated" by the "slow-moving" trade deadline day.

That doesn't bode well to me; it sounds like they're not offering the value teams want and so the teams are moving onto the next option.

Is RedOctober the new CorsiBot?

I think Farhad Zaidi and DD are in the midst of a bit of a stare down.

It doesn't actually make sense for SF to hang on to all of those 'pen arms. They need to add talent to their system. We need 'pen depth. I bet a deal happens at like 3:52, and it's a mild overpay.

Dodgers have to give up Lux for Vazquez. Lost two World Series, gotta move all the chips into the table. Jansen will cost them a third.
Pirates have no "need" to deal him, either; they can just sit there and let the Dodgers squirm

As someone said above, the Dodgers not getting a pen arm could haunt them

Has to be the absolute most unusual deadline I've ever seen. So many teams with pieces to sell who opted to ask for the sky and didn't settle for anything.

They're less than 50/50 on making the playoffs.
Instead of making idiot stake bets that go to the health of children, why don't you do a solid and back this up. If they make the playoffs you give $50 to the Jimmy Fund
