That's brutal.

In good news, 1.75 of gin was $31 at gordon's, loaded up with 4 Carl's subs that are de-steaming before a freeze.

Between here and everywhere.
Had surgery on my hip yesterday. Spent the last 24 hours hopped up on painkillers, and not pooping.

One is good, the other is not so good.

I miss hockey.

What’d I give right now to see any hockey, even if it was just a Bruins goal overturned on a bogus offsides.

Dafoomie is streaming classic B's games when the real ones should be played in case anyone is missing their fix.

If the season somehow gets canceled entirely I might be more mad than I was watching most of the finals last year, this team deserves it's run

I skate on Tuesday mornings in Manchester, NH. City just shutdown both their rinks.

I would be surprised if any sports league other than maybe baseball or American soccer isn’t done for the year. I would also be shocked if the olympics are this year. I suspect they are suspended until 2021.

Crazy times.

I’m a systems analyst at a Boston area hospital (part of the new BILH conglomerate), so I’ve spent the past week+ preparing the place. I’m very glad I don’t work on an inpatient application.

I'm writing code for the county's Health Department. I have been thankfully able to attend every meeting remotely.

I have tickets to the March 24 game vs Detroit. I just found out they were going to honor the 1970 team with a pre game ceremony. I’m so bummed I’m going to miss the chance to see Bobby Orr and all those great Bruins in person.

Oil tank sprung a leak. Need an emergency pump out and anew tank. So that’s great.
Update: Oil pumped in to five 55 gallon drums that are sitting in my basement, one of which is hooked up to the furnace to keep it running while I get a new tank ordered. One of the drums is now leaking.

This has been a good weekend.

You probably know this, and I'm sure your oil company will tell you, but "two-ply" tanks (ie, a tank within a tank) are available.

Yep. Going to get one, work to be done this week. The slowly leaking temporary drum in my basement is just a nuisance right now.

This is not a real fun time to work for a hospital. At least I can work remotely starting tomorrow.

My wife is a PA...I think shit is about to get real too.
I've very glad I'm not a clinician.

The governor's edict regarding telemedicine's coverage caught a lot of places flatfooted. Our operational leaders never had any interest until now, so we're compressing a several week project into 2 business days. Fun!

Jedette is an Epic analyst at the hospital that diagnosed some of the first NJ cases. Just started WFH today so she won’t get the worst of the chaos.

Would have been bad news if we hadn’t bought a house in the fall and were both apartment-bound for weeks.

That’s exactly what I do, actually. It’s been hectic as we lead up to the chaos...

Goes without saying, but it's embarrassing to be the only franchise to not have a plan to pay its arena staff and concession workers.

Can't change the spots on a shit leopard

I’m sure JJ’s plan is to figure out a way to replace them all with non-union labor when they restart. I’m only half joking.

Seriously though, we’re lucky that at least he pays the on ice talent, front office staff, and built a nice practice arena. But there is no way he would ever give anything that he doesn’t contractually have to to rank and file event or arena employees. He sees them as replaceable labor and would say let the union take care of them.

We should revive the RealFantasy draft to be honest. It was well over 10 years ago when we did that.

Was thinking that too, would we have 31 people? I guess we wouldn't necessarily have to do all the teams if we didn't.

Wait, the Jacobs haven’t come out publicly to support arena staff? That’s awful. Jeremy is really Mr. Burns. I expected better from Charlie though.

Everyone is replaceable labor to JJ. They’re all untalented humanoids that he would just assume replace with robots that don’t unionize.

Jacobs is trying to wait out the storm in the hope we all forget as our attention is on how this affects us personally. He is still Scrooge, only without the spirits to help him form a conscience.

Interesting wording on that.
So they've established a fund. That will help people IF the final 6 games are cancelled.
Which means ... they money is still sitting in their bank account and will only go out if/when the 6 games are cancelled? As opposed to now, when the workers kinda need the money?
And nice of them to mention it's only 6 games so it's not really that big of a deal, right? What about the other TD Garden events? We not counting them?

They did the absolute minimum after a bunch of backlash from employees all the way up to the AG of the state. It's sad that it even had to come to this. Also, only $1.5 million? Other owners are shelling out much more than that around sports.

I believe even some players have donated more than that.
