As far as Seguin goes, I think the “locker room issues” rumors were bs. The stuff with him going out all night with his buddies from Toronto during the playoffs were legit. Bottom line is he got traded because they felt like he couldn’t be relied on to show up and do everything that he needed to do off the ice in the playoffs. And honestly, the few times that Dallas has made the playoffs, he’s either been hurt or ineffective. And now he’s making cap killing money.

My biggest issue is the same issue that I had with the Thornton trade. If you are going to trade a young guy like that, it’s either for a legit game changer or 1st round picks and top prospects.
Isn't that a locker room issue? Especially on this team.

I took "locker room issues" to mean the Horton stuff, not the off ice/work ethic concerns

Right, but do you think management made this decision independent of the players? That's be real fucking dumb if so
No I think they probably talked to Chara and Bergeron about how they felt about him being out all hours of the night during the playoffs and how the guys in the room felt about it. I’m sure they didn’t like it. At the end of the day it’s a management decision, especially when a guy starts taking up a big cap hit. You can only have so many $6 million dollar players. They all have to be on board.

Sounds like we're in agreement on this

I forgot how shitty it was
This was a Saturday afternoon game and I remember that because it was possible the most annoying beautiful Saturday afternoon in May of my life.

We were going to open houses because we were waiting on the sellers’ bank to approve a short sale on the house that we ended up buying, that we had agreed on a price with the sellers in February.

I was already annoyed that we had to do this, but I’m like hey, at least we’re up 3 goals. Then fuck.

Also watching Game 5. Between the VS graphics, the bold color NESN Twitter takeover graphic in the top right, and the NESN double ticker on the bottom with another Twitter takeover ad in bold colors, it takes legitimate concentration to focus on the game action itself.

This is a high school level production quality from NESN. And that’s probably being unfair to high school local access TV.

The camera didn’t pick it up well but I love how a Canucks player fired a shot at Thomas with 1 second left and he stopped it to preserve the shutout.

Been trying to decide if this is the best hockey game I've ever seen taking into account the circumstances.
Great stretches of play, no penalties, big hitting, scoring chances/saves, 1 pure goal on a perfect play sending the winning team to the Final.

I think it’s the most well played game overall. Both teams and goalies playing at an incredibly high level, the refs were great, and the crowd was into it the entire time.

Also Peverley was so so so good for this team. He played on the 4th line this game and did it well then got bumped up to 1st line in the SCF and popped two goals in his first game. Could play anywhere and do it well.

No penalties all game, right? Definitely one of the best games I’ve been to. This is the first time watching since then. I had a pretty good day...played back to back morning and afternoon member guests at The Country Club Champ course, then rolled in for the game. It was the first warm day of the year, and I think it got into the 80’s. Needless to say the drinks on the course caught up to me.

"most well played" is probably a better way of expressing what I was trying to say, yeah.

Did NESN edit out the Lucic breakaway live? How are they so bad at editing these down?

I completely forgot that Peverley double shifted on the Bergy line in this game too.

I generally think the live tweeting on the Bruins account during these is meh, but Krejci has actually been really good tonight.

I wonder if this game had happened 5 years later, would Stamkos would have been allowed back in? You would think he would have at least been sent to concussion protocol and missed the rest of the second.

Probably say the same about Horton in the first period too.

Since there was nothing else to do, I sucked it up and watched Games 1 & 2 the last two nights. Luongo was a brick wall. What happened to him mentally in the games in Boston is one of the most bizarre turns in any series.

Fuck Olcyzk forever for explaining away the Rome hit and blaming Horton for not knowing Rome was there.

That Krejci celly was my computer background forever. There’s a great wallpaper of it.

also didn’t realize he did that in front of a handful of Canucks fans.
