Yeah- easy, free, kind of a fun process. There's a good pop filter out there- can't rember the name and my computer is in storage- it from an Australian guy.

You will need some sort of pre-amp before you run the turntable to the computer. A receiver will work.

There are a bunch of decent pop filters for audacity, but there's one from gramofile that I still haven't seen replaced anywhere that sometimes works on stubborn pops.

Worth every penny - and I'm a classical listener, meaning I'm super fussy. It is an excellent product, I could go on and on about it. Their song splitter alone would make it worth the money.

hahah, what a blast from the past DAK is. I can't believe he is still in business. Anybody remember his catalogs? Back in the day they used to sell a laserlight needle-less LP turntable, I was always curious about that one but figured it couldn't possibly sound good.

IMO you're better off learning Audacity than the DAK tool if you're really interested in quality rips; it's a great tool for all kinds of audio manipulation so the skills might convey if you ever go to mix a wedding montage or something. But if you're just going to rip a couple of albums DAK will give pretty solid results on decent condition vinyl and is less ramp up time.
