That was the Rangers' best 5v5 effort of the series - 46% xGF, which isn't bad considering they still gave up twelve high-danger chances tonight. Having a difficult time seeing how they win this series without Shesterkin standing on his head for two games and a sudden return to the astronomical shooting percentage they had in the first three games.

Don’t worry he will probably be charged with just a misdemeanor considering the idiot DA in Manhattan.

Don’t worry he will probably be charged with just a misdemeanor considering the idiot DA in Manhattan.
As disturbing as this may be to hear, this would likely be prosecuted as a misdemeanor assault in pretty much any jurisdiction in New York State. The only real viable theory to prosecute him for a felony would require the DA to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant intended to cause serious phyical injury, which is "physical injury which creates a substantial risk of death, or which causes death or serious and protracted disfigurement, protracted impairment of health or protracted loss or impairment of the function of any bodily organ". This generally can't be done in "one-punch" cases and the lack of an intermediate assault where one attempts to cause physical injury yet causes serious physical injury is an unfortunate gap in the statutory scheme.

The Rangers absolutely suck. This is embarrassing, they are getting outplayed in every facet except goal tending. Vas hasn't had to do anything, of course. I could be playing goalie for TB and it would still be 1-0.

Rags look done. They need a lucky bounce. They are lucky it is just one so they are still in it but they need to get a break.

Also that Tampa crowd is just tame, especially when compared to other teams' crowd shots after a go-ahead goal.

Congrats @VORP Speed.

Proud of this squad, they had absolutely nothing these last 2 games and still kept them close. Not much you can do to overcome the reigning two-time champs when you're out of experience and gas.

What's your beef with Gallant? How he's developing the kids?
Too much talent to get out shot and out chanced like they do every game. All world goalie but you can’t sit back and just hope he keeps you afloat. Kids basically flatlined from where they were with Quinn,

Shesterkin was amazing to keep them in it, but for all the yapping about how the Rangers were so clutch, they just learned what that really means

Congrats VORP. Good luck in the finals.

I'm very jealous of the coach you have. I'm afraid cshea might be right about Gallant. But who knows, it's a young team and I didn't expect them to get this far this fast.

Just as example, he sits Kakko and keeps Strome active, despite the fact that Strome was playing at 50% because his entire body was broken.(Strome is the guy who literally whiffed on the potential game winning goal in Game 5 when he had a point blank empty net)

And, of course, in the game yesterday Strome is removed because he was hurt. For a tired team, mistakes like that are just inexcusable.
