I'll be at the Clemson-Wake game on Saturday. My first game ever in Death Valley. I've been a fan since since 1979--a trip to Greer, SC when I was a kid sealed the deal for me; helped that my older cousins went to Clemson. Go Tigers!

That's a bad hit, yeah, but Portnoy's selective editing made it look way, way worse than it actually was.
Really? Because there are other views and cuts of it and it all looks pretty bad. It's college, the kid was on his knees, he didn't even have to be touched.

It was hardly just Portnoy calling it out.

Thank you. (I just came here looking to start the new thread but had already been beaten to it.) I like it when the teams have their AP or CFP rankings listed next to them as well, as that more readily helps you identify which games are the big ones, but I'll get over it this week.
The bolded games are the big ones. ;)

Sorry, was a bit lazy this week, and used 506 for a template.

Your post last week was significantly superior. Ale's hackneyed witticisms fucking suck.

Awesome. Fantastic place to see a game, especially in the daytime. Thought about going today too. Go Tigers!

Tua carted off the field in Starkville. Reportedly screaming in pain. Right hip injury, per the game broadcast.
Nice job Saban. Up 35-7 with a hobbled Tua and puts him back in, when there was a question whether he was even going to play

Nick Saban with the empathy of a sociopath in his halftime interview. Seemed more annoyed at Tua than upset at his injury.

“It’s his hip or something.”

“Too bad” per Saban, with a shrug. Such a move could have ended Tua’s career. What a dick.

I mean, it was the second quarter. That's completely reasonable.

Edit: I forgot that he's not completely healthy to start with. Definitely a little less reasonable.

He was literally a question mark to start against a horrible MSU team with 5 minutes to kickoff. This a guys life and career at stake. Should have been out at 28-7. Inexcusable.

Gus Johnson was ranting that Harbaugh can't be replaced by anyone better and shouldn't be judged yet because of the program he took over. He's in his fifth year, and while Michigan wasn't exactly the storied program of past decades, they still went 31-20 under Brady Hoke. How many years does Harbaugh need to be there before he's considered responsible for anything negative?

“Anything negative” pretty much means not being better than Ohio State, which is a bar pretty much only Alabama and Clemson have cleared.

He’s coached his team to the 7th best record in major college football since he’s been there. He’s 3-2 against PSU and 2-2 against Wisconsin. And probably most importantly to the longterm success of the program, he restored the in-state pecking order, which had seen historically unprecedented MSU success in recruiting. This year, Michigan State has the #10 recruiting class in the conference, and didn’t land a single one of the top FIFTEEN players from its home state.

They’re just not as good as Ohio State. Gus is correct that expecting another coach to come in and do better is unrealistic.

I’d say he’s responsible now. And aside from losing every game against Ohio, he’s done a pretty good job. Ohio’s been very good lately, so as much as it’d have been good to beat them, and as much as the fan base insists on it, it’s not a mark against him.

Edit: What The Needler said.

Where else but Ann Arbor is having the 7th-best record in college football cause for complaint? Tuscaloosa, Columbus, Clemson, Terre Haute...

As Saban explained in his annoyed voice, “Well, we wanted to work on our two-minute dtill.”
It’s the only voice he’s got when he’s on the field. I think he detests these pre- and in-game interviews and wishes he coached in a different era so that he didn’t have to do them.

(I think he likes coaching in 2019 on the 1st and 15th of every month, to be sure.)

Terre Haute? The Indiana State Sycamores are currently 4-7 and are 8th or 9th in the Missouri Valley Conference. Not sure they'd be complaining about the 7th best record in college football...
