Harrisburg, Pa.
Auburn’s QB muffed a snap and then grounded it. How is that not a fumble?

Auburn then kicked the game winning FG.I think Pig just got screwed.

Because there was a whistle and no "clear recovery" I guess?

Football officials err on the side of safety and blow the whistle when plays are still in doubt.

If anyone uses the yahoo sports app or any other website or app that hasn't been updating stats today, or plays college football dfs, the reason they haven't been updating all day is they all pull from the same stats provider and said provider has been having some sort of server or network or other tech issues for 12 hours now and still haven't figured out either what the problem is or how to fix it

Arkansas was just ripped off. That is a win for them. What a farce reffing is sometimes.
SEC refs have been corrupt for decades. If you play in a state that begins with "AL", you usually get gift rulings from the home office in Birmingham.

Yikes! Miami with the field goal block and scoop TD on the last play of the first half. 21-10 Clemson.
Why even bother trying this? Probably doesnt matter in the long run as the play disparity will make this a real struggle for Canes D in the 2nd half, but that’s a baffling decision with basically any college kicking game, never mind a guy who kicked 60%a year ago and already had one blocked tonight.

Full disclosure, this angry post is brought to you by a bet on Clemson.

I can't quite believe that I've had seven college football games on live television here in the UK today. Florida-Texas A&M and UNC-Virginia Tech first, then Georgia-Tennessee and Iowa State-Texas Tech, and now Alabama-Ole Miss, Miami-Clemson and Notre Dame-FSU. Unreal. (Nobody has the Fox rights, so no Red River game...but this is the first time in years we've had an NBC Notre Dame game on live.)

He spiked it backward, so it should have been a backward pass, a fumble.
Its not a forward OR backwards pass. It’s a spike. In fact, I would say it’s a textbook illegal forward pass as defined here:

“The passer to conserve time throws the ball directly to the ground after the ball has already touched the ground”

Does a spike count as an incomplete pass?
I’m going to go again and contradict myself here. Been taking a few more looks at it and I think the officials missed it.

Now the interesting part is trickling out post-game: The officials knew immediately they missed it and that it was a backwards pass during the replay. But replay decided that the recovery by the defense did not occur close enough to the whistle. IE, we have no idea who would have recovered so we go with the ruling on the field

Notre Dame O line looks like peak Joe Gibbs hogs. Tough to know how good they are because NOLES Dline is nothing great.
