CP must have really hated doc and Blake because yeah fresh scene and all that but no construction of the rockets is beating golden state. It's a lateral move.
On its own I agree adding Paul doesn't move the needle however if George wants to team up with them in Houston it becomes much greater than a lateral move.....it becomes a game changer.

Has anyone adequately explained why the Clippers haven't filed tampering charges against the Rockets? Is it that they just don't think it's worth the hassle if Paul is leaving anyway? It's obvious that Paul or his representation spoke with the Rockets and they worked out the parameters of the trade without the Clippers knowledge. There's almost no other way this trade could have come about.

Do we know that HOU and LAC hadn't talked to each other about this?

I may be the only person who cares about this but according to this website - http://www.thebasketballnetwork.com/chris-paul-patrick-beverley-on-steroids/ - Paul gave up all but $661K of his trade kicker.

Not sure what your point is. Are you saying that the Rockets tampered with Paul because they discussed his future prior to July 1? Is it really tampering for Morey to talk to Paul's representatives to gauge his interest in coming to HOU? And once Morey found out that Paul was willing to play in HOU, LAC's and Paul's interests became aligned - either Paul was going to leave for nothing but not get his Bird rights or Paul could get his Bird rights and LAC could get some assets.
