The Cardinals had the 24th and 20th most sacks in the 14' and 15' seasons; the Patriots were 15th and 2nd. Jones should help the Cardinals but the Cardinals line probably wasn't better (at sacking the QB) than the Patriots.

Agreed. Though alot of those Sacks where HT and Collins "up the middle" (9 to be exact). So not all those sacks were the DL.
I had the Cards DL at "about" 18 Sacks (Depends on what you think Freeney did and where Kareem Martin was lined up... So I penalized the "DL a couple from their individual totals)
The Pats "DL" had 23 (once you remove Jones)
So yea they were better but Its also comparing apples to oranges in that the Cards ran a 3-4 While the pats ran the 4-3 ( or 4-2)
But I also said their defense was better. (not pass rush or DL)
Last year it was close. (adv AZ)
2014 it was close (adv Pats)
2012-2013 it was AZ by quite a bit.
I chose those years because those are the years that Jones played on the pats D.
If I was drafting a team on pure talent out of the 2 Defenses.....After Collins....I think the next 3 (maybe 4) picks might be Cardinals. Then a toss up between HT and Jones (though I would lean towards HT). But again just my opinion.

Fair enough....I had actually "forgot about Sheard". I am still (fairly or not) in a "Prove it again" posture about Sheard. He was a great.....sensational....."situational player/pass Rusher" (at least as I recall....maybe he played more then "situation-ally"??) At least Jones was an "every down" player. I hope he does give us 80-100% of what Jones did. If its closer to 80% I wont be disappointed, thats about my expectation and is a good player.
