Forte with a fake, a shift left, and a drilled three from the right point. OSU up 70-68, 3:40 left in OT.

And Murphy fouls out for the Cowboys.

EDIT - KU on a 5-0 run, up 3 with 1 minute to go. Critical review coming here on an out-of-bounds call off a Kansas missed FG.

EDIT - And they rule it "Black Ball", as the boos rain down. OSU to inbound.

Ugly move by Nash, trying to penetrate against 3 defenders, tried to bring it back out and slips as he attempts the pass to Forte. Turnover, breakaway, hard foul, Jayhawk free throws coming.

EDIT - Another rough possession for OSU, Forte's floater in the lane doesn't drop, and Nash has a defender fall on his leg while trying for the rebound. No call, but they do call OSU for a hack after the KU board. Free throws coming.

EDIT - It's over, Jayhawks take it, 77-70. But holy shit, OSU is going to be a nightmare as a 9/10/11 seed.

* NDSU survives, 79-76. They'll get the winner of #3 N. Arizona & #6 N. Colorado, where the lower-seeded Bears are up 37-23 with 3:14 left in the half.

* Down goes Arkansas, 71-69, as they're held scoreless over the final 2:17 while missing all three FGA and committing 4 fouls. The Gamecocks also out-rebounded them 6-1 over that stretch. SC faces #4 Tennessee tomorrow. The hogs may well be NIT bound.

* MTSU sustains its domination to win it, 62-48. The Blue Raiders will meet #2 Tulsa, big winners earlier today over #7 Tulane.

In the Pac 12, #5 Colorado leads #4 Cal 56-54 with 1:04 left. The Buffs were up 9 at halftime, but are in a funk right now with their last FG coming at the 4:01 mark.

EDIT - The Buffs turn it over with :26 left. Time out Bears.

EDIT - Justin Cobbs misses a jumper with :16 left. Rebound to the Buffs, and Cal fouls with :12 on the clock

EDIT - Asia Booker hits both his FTs, and that should ice it for Colorado as they're up 4. But they take a time-out to safeguard against any fuck-ups.

EDIT - Cobbs drives the lane for a quick layup, followed by a Cal timeout with :07 left.

EDIT - Cal fouls again. Eli Stalzer makes the first FT but misses the 2nd. Cobbs misses a 3 at the buzzer, and the Buffs move on, 59-56. If they hadn't already locked up an at-large bid, they've done so now.

* A mild upset in the WAC, as #5 Idaho hangs on to beat #4 Missouri-KC, 73-70. The Kangaroos last led at 50-49 with 9:49 to play, and they were clawing their way back right to the end. But Glen Dean's FTs put the Vandals up 5 with :10 to play, and that was that. Idaho will face top seed Utah Valley in a semifinal tomorrow.

* In the MWC, #4 UNLV led #5 Wyoming by 10 with 1:25 to play, but the Rebs had to stave off a furious comeback attempt. The Cowboys got to within 66-65 with :23 left, but only made 1 of their 4 FGA down the stretch while UNLV hit 5 of 6 from the line. The Rebels face top seed SDSU in a quarterfinal.

* In the Big West, 3-seed Long Beach made uneventful work of #6 Cal St-Fullerton, winning 66-56. The 49ers get #7 Cal Poly, which wiped top seed UC-Santa Barbara off the map earlier today.

Upset alert in the AAC. Top seed Cinci was up 26-14 over #9 UCF with 7 & change left in the 1st. But the Knights closed on a 9-2 run while forcing three Bearcat turnovers and went into the break down just 30-27. They've continued to play them toe to toe in the 2nd, still a 3-pt game with 16:45 left.

Wilson drains a huge three from the right corner to bring UCF to within 47-46 with 7:27 left. They're playing some superb basketball right now, so it's not like Cinci's playing like dogshit.

Minnesota with a solid if unspectacular win over Penn St, 63-56.

And why isn't anyone talking about what a horseshit situation the Big Ten schedule is posing for the Gophers? Nebraska finished 3 games ahead of the Gophers in the standings. One of those games was by virtue of having home court in their only head-to-head matchup, a 4-pt Huskers win where a swap in venues could have easily reversed the result. The other two games were arguably by virtue of an unbalanced conference slate that saw Nebraska get to play its two extra games against Illinois & Indiana. The Gophers? Well, they had to play extra games against Wisconsin & Iowa. And because of that artificial standings advantage, Nebraska avoids an opening game while Minnesota is rewarded for their win over PSU with a quarterfinal date with (drum roll please...) Wisconsin, their 3rd game of the year with the Badgers.

Yes, I realize other conferences (i.e. the large ones) have similarly unbalanced schedules, but I haven't seen the differential magnified to this degree in ages. Minnesota's on the bubble, while Nebraska is assumed to be firmly in regardless of what happens against OSU.

Isaiah Sykes is all man tonight. Great driving bucket, draws the tough foul, and it's tied 53-53 with 2:47 left. First deadlock since 10-10.

Arrrrgh. Sykes forced penetration against a double team, and loses the ball to Cinci. Had a great chance to take the lead there inside 2:00.

Cinci takes it the other way for a bucket & a foul -- on Blair, who's gone with his 5th.

EDIT - Jackson misses at the line, Knights have it down 2 with 1:20 left.

EDIT - Justin McBride, UCF's 310-lb juvenile behemoth in the middle, gets hacked underneath. Refs reviewing if it's a flagrant 1.

EDIT - Good call here, as the defender made no play on the ball and just mugged him by immobilizing his arms. It's 2 shots and the ball for the Knights.

EDIT - McBride misses them both. And they weren't pretty.

EDIT - Good ball movement by UCF, and they got Wilson a wide-open three from the left point, but he back-rimmed it. Cinci still up 2 with :43 left. Time-out Bearcats, they have 1 left.

EDIT - Johnson buries a deep three for Cinci, and they're up 5 with 19.9 left. Time out UCF (1 left).

EDIT - Sykes drives hard, gets his feet taken out from under him, and slams his side hard. Ribs or hip pointer maybe? Now he's being helped off the court, and he's not moving his right leg. Now Mick Cronin gets to choose who shoots his FTs, and to no one's surprise it's McBride.

EDIT - It's a knee issue for Sykes. McBride misses the first, makes the 2nd. Cinci up 4 with 11.8 left.

EDIT - Sykes ends his career with a 21-pt, 9-reb night as Cinci wins it, 61-58 with a late UCF layup at the buzzer. Sean Kilpatrick with 20 pts & 9 boards for the Bearcats.

In the Southland, Northwestern State beat Nicholls State 88-72 to set up the likely conference winner decider in the first seminal against SFA at 6 pm EST.

Northwestern terrifies me as they have knocked us out in the title game several times, it's a huge rivalry and they can score like crazy if they are hot. I'll break things if it happens again.

Iowa down 7 to Northwesten with 15 minutes left in the second half . The wheels have really come off the bus for Iowa , who about a month ago was a 3/4 seed now if they end up dropping this game will end up in the 9/10 range

NW hits a huge pair of FTs to put them up 5 with :28 left. And now Iowa has a chance for a 3-pt play to get to within 2 with 20 secs left.

EDIT - The Hawkeyes are going down.

EDIT - 0.9 secs left for Clemson to answer. No dice, so it's on to OT.

Marquette inbounder jumped to release inbounds pass, which seemed like a blatant violation.   Didn't affect anything because Marquette missed the tying 3.

* St. Louis all over the Bonnies, 32-19 with 4:14 left in the 1st.

* FSU hanging with UVA, 19-17 with 6:45 left.

* Michigan hasn't gotten any distance from the Illini, leading just 30-28 with 3:46 left.

EDIT - Blue closes on a 5-0 run to lead 38-33 at the half. Both teams playing extremely well despite a couple of bad passes late. Illinois is creating second chances on the offensive glass (5 ORB), and Michigan's athleticism showing itself in the final few minutes. Until the Illini missed a three at the buzzer, both teams were shooting at least 50% from the floor.

UI with a shot clock violation.  Just a horrible possession.  Michigan ball down one with 19 seconds left.

UI really should have gone "two for one" on that possession.  Just poor.
