California. Duh.
For the most part, the CL being on TNT has been great for Real Madrid and Barca fans and has sucked for everyone else.

The really stupid thing is that Turner has other cable networks TBS and TruTV that just show re-runs of shows. I don't work in television, but I guarantee a live game between Barca and Dortmund is going to draw more viewers than a 2 p.m. re-run of Impractical Jokers or American Dad.

Much like the revolution, Barca-Dortmund tomorrow will not be televised.
Believe me, I'm happy that Liverpool are being televised this time, but the last couple of years seeing anything before the semifinals usually involved a pirated stream or watching in Spanish. Real and Barca have gotten a ton of games, Liverpool and the other English teams have gotten a few, and a lot of teams have gotten nothing (unless they were playing one of the previously mentioned teams).

At some point channels need to pick one or the other. I'm not paying $150 a month for cable AND throwing an extra $5-$10 a month to several networks for their streaming service.

I will be brief - I fucking hate that I can't watch the matches I want for UCL. TNT and UEFA can get fucked.
At least the pay per match B/R Live option online exists. I'm happy to lay out $2.99 for a match want to see, rather than a monthly or season long sub.

Leverkusen gifted an own goal by Lokomotiv off a corner. The last three players to touch the ball were Lokomotiv. No one from Leverkusen touched the ball after the corner was taken.

To make matters worse, Lokomotiv had a goal (correctly) denied by an offside.

That's true, but I'm already paying for YTTV which in theory gets me TNT and for that I should get all the games. Or UEFA should have their own platform and then YTTV can decide whether to drop TNT or make their service cheaper.

My goodness that is lethargic defense. How long does Mou stick with Winks/Dier? I don't care what style or tactics Mou wants to play, no way those two are the best options.

If I go a few weeks without seeing Mbappe, I forget how electric he is. Two strides and he's at full speed with the ball tethered to his foot. Marcelo keeps bombing forward leaving Ramos on an island with Mbappe. I can't wait to see Mbappe embarrass that ass.

Benzema cleans up some slop in the 6yd box to give Madrid an early lead.

More VAR wackiness - the ref initially showed Courtois a red for tripping Icardi on a break away and awarded PSG a free kick on the edge of the box. The TV replays clearly showed that the trip occurred a step inside the box...but then the VAR check took close to 2 minutes to find a foul against Marcelo in the midfield that negated the whole scenario. Wild stuff.

Courtois shown a red card for a lazy challenge in the box (should have been yellow, though) and PSG awarded a PK.

VAR reverses it because of a ticky-tack foul on a Marcelo dive that wasn't called in the build-up to the Courtois play.

I'm in full favor of VAR for offsides and handball calls, etc. This was a brutal sham.

Atletico, once again, does just about nothing in the first half. For a guy who likes to talk about toughness, Simeone plays his first-halves like a guy terrified of losing.

Eriksen came on for Dier after 20 minutes or so--Mou learning quickly just how large the fork in Dier's back is. Spurs lucky to get a gift goal back before HT.

Wait, isn't Marcelo on the same team as Courtois? Shouldn't there be some sort of "playing the advantage" in this situation? That's insane.

Marcelo was "fouled" by a PSG player around midfield. The PSG player then set off the break with Courtois tripping up the PSG forward just inside the box. The referee gave Courtois a red card. He then checked the VAR and went back to the "foul" on Marcelo and stopped the play there. Thus the PSG rush and Courtois foul magically never happened.

Needless to say, I disagree with the ruling.

Can't wait to still see Ronaldo smashing free kicks into the wall at a record-setting rate. He's probably not even the third best taker on his own team.

Here’s video of the Foul:

Also, Navas has been immense all game.

edit: and oh shit, Neymar came on at the half. Cool beard, too.

Fantastic strike from Aurier, who has looked like a completely different player these last two games. I'm all in on Jose!

"Struggling" Harry Kane with 23 goals in 23 games so far this year for club and country. What a slouch.

Now Kane again. 4-2.

HUGE assist to the Spurs ball boy on the tying goal though. That dude should never pay for a drink again.

Very, very impressive. The thing is that Atletico is like playing to win all matches 1-0, so the margin of error is one goal. It's maddening.
I wish I wasn't right. Atletico's timid tactics and lack of creativity lead to a disappointing loss Juventus. I think there might be three or four matches this year when Atletico lost or tied due to a moment of brilliance from the other team or a moment of bad luck -- when you're not able to score two and desperately try to hold on to the slimmest of margins, you'll fall victim to these sorts of moments.

VAR is such a mess. Pulisic pokes in a ball they was nodded down, but the ref quickly waved it off as offsides. Then for whatever reason the Valencia players continue harassing the ref during the review. Why? Who knows. The call on the field went their way.

And in a a fitting return,VAR sees Pulisic as onside. Goal counts! And Gabriel gets a yellow for being a dick to the ref. Good grief.
