Miami is just going to get every call this year because the ACC has millions on the line in them winning

Miami is on the brink of coming back, 35-10 to 38-32 and inside the 10, one minute left.

I hate the rule that your entire body has to be past the LOS, he's clearly run past it but his arm is still behind it so he can throw

How do you figure? The ACC is guaranteed at least one team in the playoff. Why do they give a shit if that team is ranked, the payout is the same?

Yeah that was targeting.
I think replay made the right decision (note: not my game, no real dog in the fight).

First, take a look at this play that was just on the national training tape this week.

They want "crown of the helmet" to literally mean the very top of the helmet. Now take a look at the moment of impact on the Miami play:

It sure looks to me like the initial impact is with the side of the helmet to the shoulder pad. At the very least, it is not 100% indisputable that the contact is crown of the helmet to the head. And of course, 100% indisputable is the standard for adding targeting.

To pick a nit, the ACC is not technically guaranteed a spot in the playoff. The top five conference champions get a spot. If the ACC champ is unranked and we have a 1-loss Boise State MWC champ and, to pick a completely random team, a 1-loss Navy AAC champ, that means the ACC Champ is heading to the Gator Bowl or whatever.

Of course, this is why the CFP Committee exists. And even that aside, it would be pretty hard to end up with an unranked power conference champion without divisions. You'd need someone to completely shit the bed OOC and then sneak into the second spot with a loss or maybe even two.

A 1-loss Notre Dame is definitely in the mix, imo.
Agree. I think if they run the table, they would very likely be in, regardless of Saturday’s events. But the more undefeated teams that fall, the better that potentially is for seeding. One thing hurting them is the lack of possible quality wins left on the schedule. USC now having a second loss was a not great development.
