SMU kicker has hit from 50+ twice. Lots of schools with playoff aspirations don’t have a guy who can do that.

Too early to panic, but definitely frustrating that the D can't seem to get a 3rd down stop early on

If the lineman doesn’t hold the defender, he either sacks the QB or forces him to throw it away. Not a terrible gamble — he probably gets away with that if the official wasn’t right there.

So no harm actually done. Still -- they need to be able to get an actual stop without getting bailed out by penalties. This is like the Pats defense vs. Philly in the SB.

Is there anything I hate more than pulling out your quarterback to bring in a guy to run the ball who is neither a good quarterback or a particularly good running back?

edit - Maybe the Saints giving Hill $40Million is something I hate more.
